    Probably need to get next year's CFer at the trade deadline. Mitch Bannon floated these mock trades involving CFers: Sean Keys to the Colorado Rockies for OF Brenton Doyle Jeff Hoffman and Daulton Varsho to the Philadelphia Phillies for OF Justin Crawford Kevin Gausman to the Chicago Cubs for SP Brooks Caple (AA) and OF Brett Bateman (AAA) And here's the other 2 he made: Shane Bieber to the Tampa Bay Rays for INF/OF Ryan Vilade (MLB) and P Joe Boyle (AAA) George Springer to the Boston Red Sox for LHP Jojo Ingrassia (A+)

    The problem is you never actually make a pointed or accurate criticism. You just throw out tons of broad, vague criticisms, often purposefully made to elicit pushback. Today, for example, you bragged about saying back in May that the defense was bad and how right you turned out to be. I looked at the numbers, and that just isn't true. Then, after your mom brought your chicken tendies and Monster Energy down to the basement for lunch, you caught a second wind and started arguing that Okamoto hasn't akshually replaced Bo as well as everyone thinks. And when people understandably ask what the hell you're talking about, you suddenly start clutching your pearls. Apparently it's our fault for being so defensive. It's not your fault for making some bizarre point where Okamoto has simultaneously done a great job and somehow hasn't actually replaced Bo very well at the same time. No, it's our fault because we can't read lol.

    I personally can't stand having a guy with legit power in the lineup. We need to get rid of Okamoto and get another slap hitter in there. That will fix things.

    Okamoto accounts for about 22% of our team's home run total on the year. lol Replacing Bo in the lineup might have been the biggest concern this past offseason and he's done that just fine.

    Yeah the aggressive approach worked in the postseason. We would blitz the opposing team's pitchers and before they knew it we had been spraying liners all over the park with some bombs mixed in. Seems like teams have adjusted and now they are throwing junk off the plate and we are waving at it. Need a total lineup overhaul this offseason but we should be able to do it with DH and OF spots being the biggest needs aside from Vlad pulling his head out of his butt.

    It's insanity. Imagine if I told you that we would be adding the following free agents to last year's team: The ASG starter and possible Cy Young winner 4 WAR infielder to replace Bo One of the best setup men in MLB You'd probably think we'd win the division easily. Instead we are dead last lol. And all this after last year's WS, the 50th anniversary, etc. Kill me.

    He could work. You'd be batting him and Gimenez toward the bottom but we could throw every remaining dollar into improving the corner OF spots and DH to get the offense in gear again.

    The defense has slipped some but most of the metrics still rate us pretty well. Don't let these dumbasses sway your opinion, they don't even look at numbers they just talk out of their ass. The real reason we suck is that we are 30th in runs scored, not the defense.

    What categories would that be? 13th in OAA but 9th in DRS, 5th in FRV, 5th in Fangraphs defensive value, etc. The defense hasn't been elite this year but you are completely talking out of your @ss if you think we are near the bottom in every defensive category.

    For this year, I don't think they can realistically get under any threshold that affects the draft or international signing money. The only one they could reasonably get under is the Cohen Tax line, which just reduces the extra tax they're paying on the dollars above it.

    Pitchers don't really work this way unfortunately. Pretty much everyone knows this.

    It's worth a thought but they probably want to give everyone a little bit extra rest rather than giving Cease almost no rest and someone like Bieber who is still shaking some rust off too much rest. I also think it makes some sense strategy wise as the bullpen is as rested as it will ever be for the rest of the season. Perfect for a Miles/bullpen game.
