  1. Goddam I am on FIRE this year boys
  2. Vlad is going to go on a second half heater like last year I can feel it
  3. Lame but probably not a bad idea to give him a breather
  4. Ross Atkins riding his waves of prospects into a contract extension
  5. Barger too, obviously. And then guys like Clement and Lukes have enough bright red to overcome the deep blue they have. Gimenez looks fine too, just unlucky. This team is stacked. Just wait until we fix the rotation, either through Scherzer coming back or at the trade deadline. The playoffs will be easy to make.
  6. Yep swag and maturity I remember he f***ed up in the field in one of his first games and he got back out there the next day and looked fine Mental midgets like Roden on the other hand strike out their first AB and you can guarantee he’s not getting a hit the rest of the day. Starts panicking and slapping 70 mph grounders to third base all day.
  7. They’ll melt in the heat come August And I fully expect us to add at the deadline and they’ll gather their pennies together to do something small
  8. Clase isn’t exactly lighting the world on fire (outside of tonight) and he may or may not turn out to be something but he gets up there and takes his hacks and has good ABs Just a totally different vibe from someone like Roden
  9. What if Mad Max turns back the clock for one final playoff run?
  10. Pallante career splits: vs. RHP: .354 wOBA vs. LHP: .279 wOBA
  11. Pallante actually has pretty big reverse splits.
  12. I'm tired of this ramping up crap. He's older than dirt and this is likely his last season. Get your ass to Buffalo and throw an 80 pitch game and then get yourself to Toronto to replace Francis. Once your thumb falls off, announce your retirement and then you can sit in the dugout and eat sunflower seeds with the boys. But until then we need to patch this rotation together until the trade deadline. Get on the mound bud.
  13. The Cardinals and their fans don’t really bother me. Yes, they act like they invented baseball. But it's nothing compared to Yankee fans who think they have the right to every MLB player through: whatever BS mock trade they expect other teams to automatically accept, or through Free Agency where players line up to sign with the Yankees like it's an episode of The Bachelor This why Michael Kay and the rest of those blowhards hate Vlad so much. He’s one of the few players who flat-out said he hates the Yankees and would never sign there. (Yeah Vlad took a two month break from that so his agent Marc Anthony could squeeze every single cent possible out of Ed Rogers but still.) Cardinals fans are more like, “Look how we developed this prospect The Cardinal Way™ — aren't we great?” Not nearly as bad.
  14. Hmm, seems like they had to bring Turnbull up and since Schultz threw 40 pitches on Friday and 19 today he wasn't going to be available for a while. But Francis threw 89 pitches today and also could have been optioned. Since they chose to option Schultz it seems like Francis might survive another turn through the rotation.
