  1. To put the Catching position in proper historical context, the greatest Catcher of all-time (Johnny Bench) has just 74.8 WAR. The best OFers have nearly 170. And in MLB history, only 8 times has a Catcher put up an 8 WAR or better season. Buster Posey had the highest season ever at 9.8 WAR in 2012. Raleigh is on pace for 11 WAR right now. But I suppose Judge's season is also historical. He's on pace to put up 12-13 WAR and that's only been accomplished by Bonds, Ruth and Gehrig. But f*** Aaron Judge. He plays for the Yankees and I hope he gets hurt. I'd vote for Raleigh.
  2. Couldn't be more proud of both you and myself (and the rest of Team Positive) for sticking with the team (and frankly the country for that matter) while the rest of the board tucked their tails and ran after a shaky April. I'm not surprised we agree on the MVP race either. Great minds think alike!
  3. I think it's a worthy discussion given Dumper's position. But I have a feeling it will work itself out over the course of the year as he comes back down to earth and Judge continues to hit.
  4. We were -180ish underdogs the past two days. Today we are -125 so the pitching matchup definitely seems more even. I do worry about Berrios' homer prone approach against a good home run team like the Yanks but Berrios has been pretty good against them in his career and has dominated them in TO (2.94 FIP). Their bullpen is more rested than ours and I would expect to see Devin Williams. Yariel and Fisher are probably unavailable today and Hoffman and Little could use another day. It would help if we could get Yimi up for Bruihl.
  5. Rays have two more vs. the A's and then @ Min, @ Detroit and @ Boston. Going to be very tight heading into the break but we've got a chance to take the lead.
  6. Warren vs. Berrios Schmidt vs. Bassitt vs. LAA @ CHW (revenge series) @ OAK All-Star Break Need to finish off the Yanks and then keep the foot on the peddle until the ASB.
  7. Not surprised...any time the Jays beat the Yankes Michael Kay gets his tinfoil hat on to rationalize how his beloved franchise could lose
  8. Yeah it's not ideal but I think Yariel warmed up yesterday and then again today (as he should have in what looked like close games) after throwing nearly 2 innings of high leverage on Sunday. So he just decided to bring him in this time to eat the inning and then he'll get a day off tomorrow. Instead of having him throw 4 days in a row. The pen should be in better shape tomorrow. Hoffman and Little will be available and I believe Yimi will be back too.
  9. At this rate the Yankees are going to be sellers at the deadline lmao
  10. I bet the Yankees thought they were going to win when they tied it at 4-4 lmao
  11. That could be a good move. It's also tempting to put Yariel out there for the 8th and then figure the 9th out after. EDIT: Nevermind I got my innings mixed up
  12. The pen is so spent and there are no off days in sight
  13. Sometimes teams just know when to lay off the splitter or not and you can bet your ass that the cheating Yanks will do it more often than not At least he got through 5
  14. Lol slap hits and a Springer special to load the bases
  15. Yanks are reeling under this barrage of slap hits Boone has no idea what to do
  16. The only downside is that you can't yell expletives at Aaron Boone in person. Yelling them at him through the TV just isn't the same.
  17. holy smokes Scherzer was dealing that inning
