  1. So we have roughly 30 million left to spend? On what?
  2. Agreed- anyone who pours water on this thread deserves a ban. I'd like to buy a beer for the mod who did this.
  3. Probably just taking their time and really putting some thought into it.
  4. Maybe we could put a buyout on those team options. Or maybe put incentives in there based on plate appearances. We need OF. He's projected for 3 WAR. He wants to come back. We should be able to work something out.
  5. I'd give him 3 years on a low AAV. 3 for 45 or something is what Beltran got a few years ago. I'd go two years if he wants a higher AAV. I'd put him in LF though and tell him to bring a 1B glove. We need his bat badly.
  6. How many submissions so far King?
  7. Derp. Of course, shouldn't have forgotten him. So yeah they have a glut.
  8. No way. That wouldn't make any sense for us.
  9. They need a CFer and currently have 3 legit corner OFers (if Bruce can even be considered legit).
  10. Just submitted my list. It's pretty hard. I can generally get "good looking," "average" or "ugly" down pretty easy. But trying to decide who is 4th best looking vs. 5th best is hard.
  11. He was really particular about where he played if I remember correctly. Ended up with 52 WAR despite pretty much shutting things down at age 33-34.
  12. He played some pretty good defense in the playoffs that year.
  13. Well Mike Dunn just got 18 mil so be prepared to offer around that or more for Boone Logan. That's a hard pass for me.
  14. Yeah I agree. When the Brett Cecil's of the world are getting 32 million and the Mike Dunn's are getting 18 I say we just let it ride with Aaron Loup.
  15. No but he has Asperger's.
  16. Let's do this, let's go full on Darth Vader and become the villains of MLB. Sign Bautista, trade for Puig and acquire whatever ******* relievers we can. Encourage trash talk, lower beer prices and let's just make headlines regularly. We can be the baseball version of the 1990 Detroit Pistons.
  17. Yep I agree but the industry consensus at the time was that we signed him for a year too long and it had pretty tepid support on this board. Hindsight is 20/20 but at the time it was a little bit puzzling and with hindsight that one looks like a mistake.
  18. Let's just complete the full circle and become the ultimate villain that the league needs. Resign Bautista, trade for Puig, lower beer prices and let it rip.
  19. I wonder if they regret signing Morales so early at this point.
  20. The smoke right now is that he'll eventually end up back with us. We desperately need his bat.
  21. Ah, of course.
  22. A team in that scenario would be better off spreading the money around.
  23. *plus prospects If you'd rather, delete Biagini entirely and just use prospects. Since they are a WS contender I figured they'd want guys who present current value. We don't really have much of that to give up so I added Biagini to try and sweeten the pot.
  24. They sent Puig to the minors last year because of a s***** attitude. I personally don't care but his trade value is down because of it. He also hasn't exactly been healthy thus far. I don't think it would take an arm and a leg to get him. I think Biagini and the right combination of prospects could get him.
