Agreed- If he plays 100 games next season the projections say that nearly everything he does in year 2 of the deal will be surplus value.

Given Pearce's ability to play multiple positions and his injury history it makes sense for the Jays to roster an extra 1B (Smoak). Shatkins likes Smoak so this allows them to upgrade on him while also finding a way to keep him on the roster (thus saving them a little bit of face). I think EE is gone and Smoak makes the team as a bench bat.

Pearce's best position is 1B. I think Edwin is gone.

Hey I'd be all for something like that. I love Jose. I think it will be hard to bring him back with Kendrys on board though. Next year, yeah it might work out. But what about year 2 and 3? Bautista and Morales will continune to entrench themselves as DH-only types. If we are going to do it though that's the plan I'd suggest.

He's no different than BBBB. Both are drunk off their ass the majority of the time, BBBB apparently drinks rum when he/she wakes up. I like Spanky but he is shitfaced by about 6 pm. I wouldn't boot either of them but when they go on tirades they should get 12 or 24 hour bans. Kind of like the village drunk being thrown in the drunk tank for the night.
