    Slide Bo to 2B and put Biggio at 3B is probably what I would do.

    The 60 game season really hampered that strategy. Another 100 games would have been great to evaluate all of these guys. I agree that we will probably see a decent number of trades this year.

    The defense is a damn mess. On some level we just have to accept it a bit and try and outhit the other team. Solving it is further complicated with the addition of Kirk. If he DH's a lot it allows Jansen, who is our best defensive player, more PT at a key position. But that only adds to the glut of DH types who then need to take the field to get AB's which includes Kirk, Vlad Jr., Tellez, Teoscar, Lourdes, Shaw, Fisher, etc. Perhaps we could acquire a good defensive 3B and CFer and then release Fisher, release/bench Shaw and trade Tellez. That leaves Vlad, Gurriel, Teoscar, and Kirk vying for AB's among DH, 1B, C, and LF but that's probably fine. Then pray that Bo, Biggio and Vlad Jr. (he'll never be good but he could go from atrocious to borderline playable) improve defensively. The other option is to just say f*** it and go all out for offense.

    They should do it similar to the NFL. Playoffs are still hard to make but doable. Also rewards the top teams with byes.

    One of the dumbest managerial moves I've ever seen occurred tonight. I actually didn't see it, I was working late so I saw the gamecast version. I couldn't really believe my eyes so if something weird happened, like Jansen tried a safety squeeze or something and I just didn't realize it please let me know. But we are tied 2-2 in the top of the 4th inning with one out and runners on 1st and 3rd. JC Romero entered the game 3 batters ago and gave up 2 singles and a HBP. Jansen steps up to the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd and 1 out. Montoyo has him bunt the runner over to second. That play dropped our win expectancy from 73 to 66.5%. Biggio steps to the plate with 2 outs now and hits a single. But Bichette then grounds out to end the inning. Did that really happen?

    Surprised that Montoyo isn't bunting Gurriel over to second to get that 2nd runner in scoring position. *Meant Teoscar. Lame joke fail

    According to fangraphs that bunt subtracted more Win Probability then any other out this game.

    Yeah the Mariners schedule is probably slightly harder than ours.

    It's not time to panic about the playoffs yet. We are up 4 with only 10 games left, that's a pretty significant lead. Our magic number is down all the way to 7. The Jays are playing like absolute dog s*** but the Mariners are not a good team.

    He's definitely in a high risk category when it comes to COVID.

    Joseph has already been DFA'd but that still leaves Jansen, Kirk (who didn't need to be added yet for Rule 5 purposes), McGuire and then Moreno and Riley Adams have to be added. I suppose we could dump McGuire but I'm not sure that I'd be ready to after 45 ABs this year. But anyway, it's a good problem to have.

    It's a good move. C has been a huge hole for us and Kirk looked really good in ST. Creates a 40-man roster crunch for us next year. We are going to have like 5 catchers or something so we will need to make some moves but that can be done.
