  1. Well this has been a fun year
  2. Lmao Jonathan Davis with the bomb!
  3. Nice graphic there. I'm digging this home field. The dim lights seem like something we could get used to since we play here so often. Thus giving us an advantage over teams who aren't used to it.
  4. This was one of the most enjoyable games I've seen in recent years
  5. He's always had a very good eye. 9.7% K rate is elite. 8.2% walk rate for someone with that little power is also very good. Somehow his sprint speed has even bounced back to where it was when he was a rookie. He didn't always suck, he was a 4 WAR player in 2015 and a 2 WAR player in 16 and 17. I wonder if he was playing hurt the past two years.
  6. This video is a CLASSIC. Dozens of high fives and dancing in the Jays dugout while Boone dejectedly walks to the mound. It gets even better though. Ottavino, a pitcher for the Evil Empire, walks off the mound, knowing that his season stats are completely f***ed after giving up 6 ER and recording ZERO outs. LMAO
  7. Awesome slam but to go back a bit earlier I really like the move by Montoyo to pinch hit with Panik and then send Shaw on consecutive 3-2 pitches with Panik at the plate. Panik has a career K rate of 9.7%.
  8. Lmao Lourdes Gurriel looks like a really fun teammate
  9. Montoyo has the runners going wild on the base paths. The Yanks pitchers are rattled as a result. Completely changed the complexion of this game. Extend Montoyo.
  10. Joe Panik just pinch hit and I actually don't mind it.
  11. SRF should just aim at the middle of the plate. His natural lack of control should allow him to pain the corners. Sucks for the catcher but whatever it's only for an inning at a time.
  12. "I know the team is very high on this young man. Kirk has a very THICK and STROOONG lower half and a SOLID base that allows him to tap into some power. But he's also got very QUICK hands and good bat control. He's got a chance to be a special player."
  13. Atkins probably scared shitless that Montoyo would start playing Martin at 3B and batting him 3rd.
  14. So the Dodgers got one prospect they like and then another prospect that couldn't even meet the low threshold of "liking." That second guy must really suck.
  15. Maybe but the Dodgers tried trading him along with a year of Joc Pederson this offseason to the Angels and the return was pretty meh. Add in a s*** start to the year for Stripling and no Pederson and it may not have cost us that much after all.
  16. .500 team is true but it’s kind of misleading because it’s a playoff team. If you’re a playoff team would add a frontline starter for Kloff? That changes the equation quite a bit.
  17. That should be a forfeit. Chalk another one up on the win column boys!
  18. It would be tempting. It would really shore up our playoff odds and then give us a fighting chance once we get there. The only problem is how unstable this season is. If we got hit by a Covid outbreak or something that could take key players out of the lineup for 3 weeks. Hate to give up something good and then that happen.
  19. I like this deal a lot for the Jays, assuming that the player heading back isn't anything special which I doubt it is. With 8 teams we should be able to make the playoffs unless we just totally s*** the bed somehow. One way to do that is for us to be forced to continually trot out too much replacement level trash (or worse) on a nightly basis. I would love to see a couple more moves like this, particularly to replace the Drury's and Panik's of the team.
  20. Rowdy Tellez has a wRC+ of 121 on the season.
  21. Hopefully we can get through the top half of next inning and then we are in good position for a win. Raining hard though.
  22. It's only a matter of time before all MLB teams follow the Brewers lead and quit playing. But unlike the NBA who will just make the games up and collect the same paychecks anyway, MLB probably can't so the players will actually forego money. Which means the MLB boycott will probably last about a day or two at most.
  23. That was a horrible AB. He struck out on 6 pitches, none of them were strikes and only one was competitive.
