    Mahle is pretty good. Ditching his change up and adding a splitter seem to have really helped him out. He'd be a great add.

    Remember that Friedman is the Dodgers GM and he once employed a convicted rapist in Josh Leuke. Times have changed but Friedman is pretty shrewd. I think the Jays should give the Dodgers Grichuk and a solid prospect for Bauer. No way this snowflake fanbase would be able to handle that though so Bauer probably ends up in Texas instead.

    Yeah if they try to suspend him they are really playing with fire. If anything, the most they'll do is say he committed some sort of minor violation of the code of conduct and that he's suspended with time served along with some sort of fine. He'll appeal and win eventually, whether it's through the appeal process or in court. I can't wait for the Sheryl Ring article!

    Can someone please convince me to NOT blow over 10% of my budget on keeping Jordan Romano. I think he's going to have a huge year and owning a lockdown CL on your favorite team is fun. I also have few needs and CL is one of them. But still, he's a CL so it seems wrong.

    It’s been the best team running for 3 years in a row but I can’t get over the hump in the playoffs. Now I’m really strapped for cash.

    14 team Dynasty League with $300 salary cap. I was offered Freddy Peralta ($19) and Franmil Reyes ($7) for Matt Olson ($23) and Yu Darvish ($24). I've got Vlad Jr. so I'm covered at 1B so the loss of a 1B and gaining a UT doesn't sting too much, my pitching is a little weaker than my hitting, and I've got some money issues. Seems like a decent deal but Peralta's slight frame kind of scares me long term. Olson seems rock solid but Franmil isn't too far behind him if you can stomach the UT tag. What do you guys think?

    Update on the Volpe trade. I gave up Volpe and a couple of future (and likely late) 1st round picks to the same team that owns McCullers for Gallo, Eovaldi and a little bit of money instead. I passed on McCullers bc of the arm issues and I think I ended up with a better deal. Thanks for the advice all!

    Thank you so much for all the replies guys! It's an interesting deal from my perspective. It's kind of a weird league in that prospects aren't worth much until they hit top tier status but #4 SPs like McCullers are worth a decent amount. But since it's only a 14 teamer a replacement level SP really isn't THAT bad. Yuskei Kikuchi just got traded for a couple of scrub picks for example. I def see where people are saying do it but it seems like Volpe could be special right? Or is Volpe just a guy? I traded Tatis Jr in a similar deal like 3 years ago or so and definitely regret that one so maybe I'm just snake bit lol. I'm leaning toward making him throw something else in and doing it. Thanks again though!

    I was offered Lance McCullers for Anthony Volpe in a dynasty. The league is skewed a little bit toward pitchers. The minor league draft is for new players only, so anyone else in the minors is fair game. Volpe himself was a mid season free agent pickup. What do you guys think?

    It does but they also list Teoscar as the top option at DH so a lot of his WAR is probably being assigned there.

    Lol you guys are dumbasses. If Gurriel is such a great option at 3B then why was he a dumpster fire in the infield by every metric (SSS but everything on Fangraphs and Statcast says he sucked) and then banished to the outfield in the middle of the 2019 season? He couldn't even throw the ball to 1B and now after a 3 year break he's supposed to be viable at 3B?

    LGJ at 3rd base is insane and makes this board look stupid for someone even suggesting it. He was atrocious at 2nd and would be even worse at 3B. Vlad Jr. at his fattest would be better than LGJ at 3B. First base I could potentially see. But 3B is not an option.

    Yeah they said they want to turn it into a more baseball specific venue so surely that's on the agenda. Grass is a key issue, but so is the fact that the outside of it looks like s*** and the inside feels so closed off. While Minute Maid Park isn't so great itself (especially for being newer) it is a lot better than RC so I wonder if they could use it as a model of sorts. Reducing a bunch of OF bleachers and adding a bunch glass would be a good start.

    Looking at some OF options and Conforto can really mash. He's not a total zero with the glove either. He'd be a great buy low candidate IMO and probably a better fit than Schwarber would be. Particularly if we move Gurriel or Grichuk and need a guy who can play the OF often.

    I think he's more like a 110 wRC+ with horrendous defense. I don't hate him but he's replaceable IMO, especially when we're talking about one of the premier talents in baseball in Jose Ramirez. There are numerous FA options that we could replace him with. Guys like Conforto, Schwarber, Nelson Cruz, the Japanese guy, Joc Pederson, McCutchen and Soler all project similarly to Gurriel next year.

    Both Harrison and Seager are ok options. Both rate fine defensively and Harrison has some versatility but Seager bats left. Not sure how much better they make the team over someone like Kevin Smith though, especially as age will soon catch up with them. But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to option Smith for depth anyway. If this team truly wants to propel itself into top tier contender status though I really think they should consider trading for Jose Ramirez. I saw this proposal on twitter. It's a tough pill to swallow but I think I'd probably do it.

    Well maybe vesting option isn't the way to go unless it was high. As for a long term deal, it would just depend on where his head is at. If he can't get a QO for 18 Mil then perhaps a 4 year deal in the 50 million range would be really enticing for him.
