  1. After seeing this lineup it made me realize that I’ve always had a lot of respect for the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Lots of good people over there.
  2. Yeah out of all our lefties Lukes seems like the one who actually has a chance against LHP
  3. Not hard when MLB lets you hit against a different ball
  4. Sugano has a pretty big parlay with a Ryan McMahon homer on it I guarantee it
  5. I understand Judge and Stanton are going to get their homers with MLB feeding them the Goldilocks balls But Ryan McMahon? Investigate Sugano for sports betting
  6. If the Orioles win today I will never say anything bad about that franchise ever again
  7. Rays hustling to make sure they get both Diaz and Aranda back into the lineup. What the hell is their problem?
  8. A Varland-Lauer duo seems like it could be effective. Righty throwing 100 mph followed by a soft tossing lefty.
  9. The Orioles are 16-6 when Rogers or Bradish start this year. 2 of those starts came against the Yankees where they are 1-1 with the loss coming in extra innings.
  10. Pretty sure he’s already played an afternoon game after a night game this season
  11. Yeah Varland is a good choice. He's good (despite the struggles he's been better recently) and can go two innings no problem. I would expect that they try and get two innings out of Lauer as well.
  12. Agreed but his batting average has dropped about 100 points in the last week so maybe it's best to get him a day off now and then make him play the final 3 games
  13. Yeah if we win tonight it feels like we will have regained some control over this after pissing away our big lead. We have our top 3 starters going against the Rays. Meanwhile, the Orioles avoid Fried and Rodon while throwing both Rogers and Bradish. Bieber vs. Houser // Warren vs. Rogers Yesavage vs. Boyle // Schittler vs. Sugano Gausman vs. Seymour // Gil vs. Bradish But like you said we gotta win tonight!
  14. If he was a model teammate who would take his new role as a AAA depth starter seriously then he would have been worth keeping. But he'd be a malcontent and a distraction. So the 40-man spot and 2.2 mil is worth more and is where you start getting into middle reliever/bench player money. Phil Maton, Mike Tauchman, Shawn Armstrong, Brooks Raley, and a ton of other guys all signed for less money than that. Good move in ripping off the band-aid now.
  15. I think we'd STILL have the best odds. The tiebreaker with only 4 games left is a huge deal and the schedules start to even up. Our series against TBR is probably easier than NYY against Baltimore. Fried and Rodon won't be starting against the Orioles but Rogers and Bradish will. But it's obviously best to just take care of business tonight and if we do the Yanks are put in a fairly tough spot. Gaining 2 games on us with only 4 to go won't be easy.
  16. Jays clinch the AL East if we go 4-1 or better. Otherwise, here are the scenarios where the Yankees would overtake us: TOR: 3-2 NYY: 5-0 TOR: 2-3 NYY: 4-1 TOR: 1-4 NYY: 3-2 TOR: 0-5 NYY: 2-3
  17. lol let’s see here You’ve been trying (and failing) to clown on me for being too positive and being too much of a thoughtless cheerleader all season. Then when I call you out for being a spaz all season you switch gears and resort to a childish “No you are!” argument. Sad!
  18. ^Chicken Little here, perhaps the most panicky and reactionary poster in the history of the board, wants to try to gaslight everyone into thinking he’s calm, cool and collected I don’t think so pal lmao
  19. We still hold the division lead and Fangraphs has us at 75% to win it. The 1-game lead (effectively 2 with the tiebreaker) looks small, but with only 5 games left we’re still in control. This Yankee team gets treated like it's the 1927 version, but they barely slipped past the White Sox tonight. If Chicago can push them, the Orioles can definitely take a game, or even two with Trevor Rogers pitching. The Yankees have made a strong push, but they’re almost out of time. Scenarios: Jays finish 4-1, Yankees can’t catch us Jays finish 3-2, Yankees must go 5-0 Jays finish 2-3, Yankees must go 4-1 Jays finish 1-4, Yankees must go 3-2 Jays finish 0-5, Yankees must go 2-3 Our slump has made this closer than it should be, but still having a 75% chance shows how far ahead we were.
  20. Your eyes would be correct We had an xBA of .282 to the Sox's .218
  21. I wonder if they feel that: the division race isn't locked up yet; their internal scouting/data isn't great on Taters; therefore, they aren't comfortable letting him audition for a playoff spot when the games are so important right now. If that's the case, it would be nice if we could effectively wrap the division up ASAP so we can get a look at Taters.
