    I saw actual tears from him during a game earlier this year. Put the pressure on him and he'll fold. He's not built for the World Series.

    Hopefully that garbage fanbase (half clueless celebs who know nothing about baseball and half gang members) spends 2 hours crawling through traffic just to stroll in during the third inning and realize the Dodgers are already down by 4

    Yeah we kind of have mid pitching so it's no guarantee we silence their bats but the opportunity is there. Their rotation is definitely their strength, but our deep lineup is ours, so hopefully Game 2 was just a blip. Their bullpen isn’t very good either, which takes some of the edge off their elite starting pitching. Yamamoto’s in a groove, but even so, our xBA against him was .255 while we only hit .133. Based on that, we could’ve expected 7 or 8 hits instead of just 4. Not only would those extra hits have helped on their own, but they likely would’ve ended Yamamoto’s night earlier and given us more chances depending on how we capitalized on the extra at-bats. It could have been a completely different game.

    Feels like the pitching plan is more straight forward against the Dodgers. Just a matter of execution which is easier said then done, BUT: The Yankees have a balanced lineup and alternate L-R throughout. The Mariners have those friggin' switch hitters which made it tough to get platoon advantages. The Dodgers group Ohtani (he in particular takes a big hit against lefties) and Freeman closely together with only Betts splitting them who is pretty average these days. So use a lefty against 1-2-3 and then pull them immediately for a righty who will have the platoon advantage against everyone else but Muncy. Edman is a switch hitter that can't hit RHP and they don't have any pinch hitters either. So the plan is there, we just need to execute.

    Mad Max versus the Dodgers is definitely intimidating, but there is some reason for optimism tonight. I will get tarred and feathered for saying this, but you could argue the Dodgers offense is actually the weakest of the three teams we have faced: Yankees: Best offense during regular season. The gap between Judge and Ohtani is greater than you think and the Yankee lineup is deeper. Mariners: Tied with LAD for second in wRC+ (113) but they made massive lineup additions at the deadline and the Dodgers didn't. Dodgers: Still dangerous, but Betts has regressed, the bottom third of the order sucks, and they don't have good pinch hitters. The idea that they were bored in the regular season and have now flipped a switch doesn't really hold up either. They lit up the Reds (the worst team to ever make the postseason) but since then they have struggled to the tune of an 86 wRC+. They are still elite on paper and Mad Max hasn't been sharp this season, so a big game is possible. But I think the Jays can come up with a good plan to keep the Dodgers offense in check tonight if they execute.

    Kirk at C, Lukes in LF, Varsho in CF, Barger in RF and Springer at DH. That's one hell of a lineup. I suppose Schneider might get the Game 1 nod against the lefty Snell.

    It's crazy when you get access - I have a similar story. Tickets are getting snatched up left and right so you've got to be quick. I was also shocked by the face value pricing so I thought I was going to get infield level going into it but they were more than I was expecting so I panicked trying to look at the various options. I ended up getting a couple for Game 2 in the outfield in the 100 level for about 1000 CAD each after fees and taxes.

    I know Don Mattingly isn't everyone's favorite around these parts, but I am happy that he is going to the World Series in at least some capacity. By all accounts, he's a great guy on and off the field. He was probably the best player in baseball for a 4 to 6 year stretch and looked like a lock for the HoF before injuries derailed his career. The Yankees really let him down by surrounding him with subpar talent for all those years. They couldn't get him to the World Series but I'm glad that the Jays did.

    Yeah he was barely a SS as it is, so if he's not 100% you can't play him there. It'd be easy to DH him and put Springer in the OF. But Springer is the rare guy who gets a DH bonus instead of a penalty. Bo takes a DH penalty. So if you could get Bo in the field and leave Springer as DH it could help quite a bit.

    Mike Fiers played a huge role as well when he spilled the bills to Rosenthal a couple of years later.

    Here we go again. Brownie is crying poor when just one of his son’s travel ball budgets exceeds the GDP per capita of most countries on Earth. Just do what the rest of us are doing. Make a completely irrational financial decision and go to the game.

    As was mentioned previously, four times has a Game 7 LCS winner faced off against an LCS sweep. All 4 times, the Game 7 winning team won. SSS but hopefully the time off makes the Dodgers rusty and the Jays come out and win the first two before the Dodgers know what hit them.

    Their offense isn't exactly on fire either. 15 runs in the 4 game sweep of the Brewers. We almost scored that many off of Kirby and the Mariners in Game 3.

    That Ed Sprague homer was massive. Jays were down 1-0 in the series and were down by a run entering the 9th inning of Game 2. Pinch hit homer to take the lead and Henke shut them down in the bottom half to win the game. Jays go on to win the World Series in 6 games and all 4 games they won were decided by a single run.

    People are way too harsh on Little. It's fair to question if he should be pitching in the 8th inning protecting small leads. But the "He's been bad since X date" numbers are all arbitrary BS. I can play the "since X Date" game too and he's had a 1.86 ERA since September 3. I'd move him down the pecking order but if he finds his release point he could come up huge for us.

    Yeah that's what I would do. Might want to go with a 5 man bench to keep IKF and an 8 man bullpen too. I suppose they could drop Loperfido though to keep a 4-man bench.

    Bassitt actually looked pretty good out of the pen didn't he lol His fastball was 3 mph faster and had some tail to it That was a crafty move by Schneids

    Yeah the offense is scary too but it feels like it's manageable if we pitch well, particularly the back half which consists of Edman, Kike Hernandez, and Pages. If you just kind of eyeball it, it seems like the Yanks and M's lineup are comparable. The Yankees had a higher wRC+ on the season and the Mariners tied with them so that tracks.

    I wonder what the plan is for Bo. Might see a 5-man bench with IKF. Some of our relievers don't even make an appearance.

    We can beat these guys. The Yankees and Mariners have good rotations and we hammered them. Dodgers bullpen isn't great either. We will be underdogs but I'm seeing -180 right now. That's doable.
