  1. So is Kooch going to be the long man? We could use him in lower leverage spots where he can work on things I suppose. But if he can barely get through 3 or 4 innings as a starter I'm not sure he'll do any better as a long man. What if they just let him dial it up for an inning at a time? Could he succeed as a high-K high-BB reliever?
  2. The Rangers are even better than I thought they'd be. Their Pytho is 57-59 and they have a pretty solid farm system too. But they've been pretty damn bad ever since we whipped them in the playoffs in 15-16 and it's very much a what have you done for me lately kind of league. All told they could probably do a whole lot worse than Daniels though. Seems like ownership should have cooled it on the expensive contracts and waited on the farm until they made big signings.
  3. Daniels had been there forever. Former Boy Wonder who had a decent run.
  4. #27 was quite the oppo bomb
  5. Bo dropping to #7 in the lineup tonight. JBJ starting in CF.
  6. Where is future superstar Nick Frasso on that list?
  7. It's a damn shame we aren't playing better. We'd be within striking distance of the Yanks if we weren't completely s***ing the bed the past couple of weeks.
  8. Yeah that is fair. I visited there a long time ago and liked it. Seems like a really good place to live.
  9. Yeah a lot of smaller US cities that aren't really destination places are moving up in my opinion. Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, etc.
  10. Makes sense. Denver gets a lot of Canadians, I know a lot of Albertans.
  11. Keeping JBJ over Zimmer makes sense. He's a better defender and he can actually make contact with a baseball once in a while whereas Zimmer can't. So maybe they can tweak something there to get him to hit .230/.300/.400. Zimmer is faster but he's not really a stolen base threat anyway and it's hard to fix something when he's K-ing over 35% of the time.
  12. My favorite US cities in no particular order are Honolulu, San Diego, Austin, New Orleans, Nashville, Charleston and Memphis. I probably wouldn't want to live in New Orleans (I'd die from partying too much) or Memphis (it's got a ton of character but it just isn't that nice) but the rest of them are good places to live too. A lot of people really like Denver these days which is where I live but I know too much about it to rank it high on the list. Canada has 3 great cities that are comparable and probably better than its American counterparts (Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal are right up there with NYC, Boston and Seattle) but I prefer warmer weather.
  13. Interesting to see Houston on the list. I like it a lot but you don't see people mention it as a great place very often.
  14. He's got to be tempted to come back for one more year to get 700 homers.
  15. I'm finally getting around to watching Ken Burns' Baseball. Really great series. A lot of focus on Ty Cobb in the early episodes. It of course hammers him but after reading up on him some more it doesn't seem like he was as bad as people claim him to be.
  16. Chris Woodward was fired as the manager of the Rangers. I knew that was going to happen when they spent a ton of money in the offseason which raised expectations but still had a bad team.
  17. What will dagadad complain about now?
  18. ********! You have to defer to the star player in those situations. It's like when someone tries taking a charge on Michael Jordan, you give Jordan the free throws. When Rocket Raimel is flying around the bases you just know he's likely to beat the tag in these scenarios.
  19. Did Rocket get a new helmet? It stayed on
  20. Lol so we all have to pretending that she's good at pitching?
  21. Lol Phoenix is a shithole. It's a concrete jungle filled with ghettos, traffic and crazy amounts of senior citizens. Scottsdale is the one "nice" part of that town and it's full of degenerate ASU sluts with chlamydia. Pass.
  22. Lopez has been optioned. Zimmer survives! Our bench right now is: 2B/OF- Biggio (L) OF- Rocket Raimel (L) OF- Zimmer (L) OF- JBJ (L) All hail the left handed hitting outfielders!
  23. Curious move. They both suck ass and Steamer projects them both for a 73 wRC+. Zimmer seems to be the better baserunner and JBJ seems to be the better fielder. I like what Brownie said, given the low impact here you might as well keep the guy you have if he's comfortable with the limited role. But maybe Zimmer wasn't happy with his limited role? These guys often overestimate their own abilities. Seems like the Jays always liked JBJ and tried to sign him at different times. Maybe they think there is something there that they can fix.
  24. Even if Kikuchi was just pitching like he did previously it wouldn't be that big of a deal. A 1 WAR #5 SP isn't the end of the world and they obviously thought there was some upside there. Instead he now throws strikes less often than your average high school pitcher. It's like he has the yips or something.
