  1. Tiedeman just mowed them down. He's ready.
  2. You forgot Jackson
  3. I really like their offseason. They added Renfroe, Drury, Urshela and Phillips to the lineup/bench along with O'Hoppe at last year's deadline. Add in Rendon who gave them nothing last year and that's going to be a colossal improvement with basically 6 guys being added to last year's lineup/bench. In most of those cases those 6 will be replacing negative WAR players. On the pitching side they added Tyler Anderson (coming off a 4 WAR season) and a couple of mid bullpen pieces in Estevez and Matt Moore. Altogether, that's a TON of additions in one offseason. As for the rotation depth don't forget Jose Suarez who is a legit backend rotation piece too so 1-5 they are pretty solid. They've also got some decent depth with Tucker Davidson (probably the last guy in their 6 man rotation) Silseth, Chris Rodriguez, Griffin Canning, and others in AAA and AA who could give them something. That won't really "wow" anyone but if you compare it to the depth around the league it's probably better than most. They are definitely WC contenders.
  4. And now he likely never will. Drop him.
  5. Yeah I've though of him a couple of times during all this pitch clock talk.
  6. He wanted to outright pick the Reds to win the WS but it was too bold. So instead he had to come up with a more realistic scenario in which they can win it all in an abbreviated season.
  7. Hit 2 home runs off AAA pitchers in Spring Training and then got cut from Scranton midseason. Not even sure he's in professional baseball anymore.
  8. You won't miss either but Strasburg seems done. Paxton a remote chance to be useful again. I guess.
  9. By the time Tabler got done with his physical description of the batter an entire 5 pitch AB could be over. "Just look at this guy." Strike 1. "He's got biiiiig....giant forearms." Strike 2. "And biiiiig....broaaaaad shoulders." Ball 1. "And look at his back, Buck. He's stroooooong." Foul ball. "This guy just looks like a professional..." Ground ball to second thrown out at first. "....hitter."
  10. Maybe they could just turn the pitch clock off in the 9th inning if the score is within 3 runs or something
  11. I'm going with Zips. Orelvis is the #5 prospect in baseball. Extend him.
  12. The thing is if he was in high A he would have dominated and everyone would have been on his nuts and kept him in their Top 100. Well the Jays pushed him and he understandably had some mixed results that came with being the youngest player in AA. He's getting dinged too much for playing in an advanced league.
  13. I agree with that as well. But that's not what Brownie is saying. He also adds that he thinks all Domincans go home and eat like crap and "f*** around on the sandlot." lol
  14. Wow both of his homers in that clip are insane for a 20 year old. The first one was a laser to dead center that EASILY cleared the fence. The second one was a bomb that the camera couldn't even track.
  15. Ok well then you agree with me. The season including Spring Training is about 7.5 months. Even you Mr. Robot Baseball thinks they should get a few months off. Well there's only 4.5 months left in a year so a few months of rest basically eats that up by the time they get to ST.
  16. Why do you assume that they are all "f***ing around in a sandlot" just because they go home in the offseason to train? lol Also, it takes two to tango. If you are an organization that compels its players to become lab rats that might not work out as well as you think. Each player is different and will have different training needs.
  17. A 10 pitch AB is going to be grueling for the pitcher.
  18. LOL who do you think these players are? They aren't soldiers conscripted into the military. They are people who work for the organization. It's a long grueling season and some of them need a mental break (or franky to see their kids and family) which can be better served in their home countries which they haven't been to in the 7.5 months they are working. They aren't robots. On top of it there's plenty of stuff they can do down in the Dominican Republic anyway (or Arizona or Vegas or Mexico or wherever else they are from). These guys have been playing baseball wherever they are from for the first 18 years of their lives and many of them have turned in to stars so I think the DR is well equipped enough to help them train. It's not going to kill them to go home and train there. Plenty of the greatest players of all time have done it. They don't have to give their lives up and live some scientific baseball experiment where they live in a baseball lab and baseball scientists run tests on them 24/7. Lol give me a break pal!
  19. Forget Roy Firestone, BJMB would have a real life celebrity in connorp after his 90 Day Fiance appearance.
  20. I could really fire a cannon shot at Grant right now after he posted that low hanging fruit but I'd have to insult the entire country of Canada to do it and it's just not worth it IMO
  21. I read somewhere that Atkins sees him throwing 100 innings this year.
  22. Yeah that's fair. To be clear I think he could still be a starter but I'm not sure I see him being a frontline starter. The prospect shine is wearing off and it seems like his ceiling is dropping. And I just don't see him as a workhorse that can approach 200 innings either. But maybe he can still be a mid rotation arm.
