    If you guys like giving up your Nos. 10 and 26 overall prospects for a 32 year old reliever with a career 4.04 xFIP (who is also making a pro-rated 5 mil ROS) then you must love giving up a nobody prospect for Genesis Cabrera.

    By what metric is he a "rock star" then? You and the rest of the Bellinger fanboys glancing at his RBI? Dude's offensive statcast numbers are bluer than the state of Massachusetts' congressional map.

    That's the thing he can hang his hat on. If he maintains that K rate to go with his defense he'll be a serviceable player again. But he's far from a "rock star".

    Rockies did a good job on this one. The fact that they are actually selling instead of hanging on to everyone is a big improvement alone. But they got the Braves #10 and 26th ranked prospects for a pretty mediocre reliever. Braves obviously see something in the profile, but he's not exactly cheap and he's 32.

    Yeah probably but they have some zeros in the rotation so trading a 2 WAR 2B for a 2 WAR SP seems like it should be somewhat feasible and should also help them to a decent degree. Might have to sacrifice a year of control or something.

    This is caveman-like thinking similar to when Gord Ash kept Joe Carter around 5 years too long because he was getting 100 RBI a season. The analytics have never been more accessible than they are now. You guys seem smart (enough), you both should learn how to read a Statcast page! They even color code it for the double digit IQ fans such as yourselves! I'll go ahead and get you started with a quick lesson. Blue = Bad and Red = Good.

    I think we could make that work better than the Reds could. We are looking for a right handed bat and India fits that profile. Whit can play more LF while we sit one of Varsho or KK this year and then he's the full time starter at 2B next year. We would need to trade for a SP to go with Ryu to finish out the year. As for the Reds, Manoah is now a project and the Reds are trying to win now. I think they'd be looking for someone who could provide more immediate help rather than a boom or bust project like Manoah.

    According to Statcast, Cabrera is throwing 5 pitches as a reliever. Just started throwing a slider. What a mess. Cut him down to 2 or 3 and the Jays might have something.

    With the trade deadline coming up in 10 days a couple of those guys might not be here anymore which would allow for some reshuffling.

    He's got one remaining option year which is being used this season so surely they'll put him in AAA to get a look at him with the hopes of him cracking the roster next year.
