  1. Well it wasn't a hit with RISP but it was two productive outs in moving runners over and then in. Baby steps.
  2. He hit it hard just didn't get through.
  3. We have 6 hits, 2 doubles and a homer through 3 innings and we have 1 run.
  4. Belt knows we can't get a hit with RISP so he's trading himself for the guy on first.
  5. Good AB for Lukes. I've seen enough, he's jumped Biggio on the depth chart for me.
  6. It's a 3-2 count with a double play candidate at the dish. You definitely want to start the runner. It was Belt's fault for whiffing on a meatball.
  7. Dear god this team sucks right now. 3-2 fastball right down the dick and Belt whiffs and Bichette gets thrown out at 2B
  8. Wish I had better news for the Bauer Fanboys. He couldn’t hack it with the main league so he’s since been demoted to the Japanese minor leagues and it doesn’t appear to be going very well there either.
  9. You're right I just looked. His K rate went way up in the 2nd half of last year as well as in the Puerto Rican winter league. In the limited innings this year it's also up. Maybe he caught on to the sweeper craze or something.
  10. Bowden Francis is back and threw 3 innings in a rehab start in Dunedin. Never did see what his injury was but he was interesting when we first traded for him, then he sucked in AAA but then had a really good winter where he seemingly saw an uptick in velo and stuff. If one of our starters gets hurt he might be our best bet right now. Not on the 40-man though.
  11. Well yeah managers don't really have much of an effect anyway so he's not the issue but if we are going to spend this much time on a message board we might as well discuss the manager. From what we've seen, he made garbage Game 2 decisions (Atkins and Co. probably a factor here), he acted like a donkey the entire Yankees series and then either didn't know the rule or forgot about the the previous mound visit from Walker. It's been a rough stretch. He also seemingly requires a babysitter (Mattingly).
  12. It would have worked out fine anyway. Schneider getting to show his face on TV had zero to do with it.
  13. Why are you so hellbent on keeping all the pitchers? Surely Zach Thompson and his career ERA of over 6 in AAA (it's almost 8 this year) would warrant some consideration?
  14. In the entire 150 year history of MLB has a pitcher ever answered, "yes, please take me out of the game" when his manager goes out there to ask? So even if Schneider was able to keep the mound visits straight, why even go out there and ask the question? Either pull the guy or don't.
  15. Yeah maybe not Jimenez but they can find room if they have to.
  16. So we've got one more game against the Orioles tomorrow and then it's a 4 game set at the Trop lol
  17. I don't think the staff pulled him back because the decision was to just yank him. Well then he gets out there and let's Manoah talk him out of something he can't even do? Unreal.
  18. It seems like every reliever is coming in to nearly every game mid inning. I would like to know the affects of that. I know pinch hitters, for example, can expect to hit worse simply from the act of pinch hitting. I wonder if relievers do better with clean innings.
  19. Schneider doesn't understand the mound visit rules. He also seems to let his pitchers bully their way into staying in the game. Make the move or don't, but quit getting cute with these stupid mound visits.
  20. Couldn't imagine a worse loss if I tried. -We finally get a good start out of Manoah and score some runs. -Romano gives up a 3 run bomb to a scrub. -Then we get a runner on second and no outs and the middle of the lineup doesn't do anything. -Then a misplay in the top of the 10th to give them a run. -The side strikes out in the bottom of the 10th to end the game. Throw in Schneider not understanding how the mound visit rules work and Manoah running his mouth again and this team is just awful to watch.
