  1. Chapman needs to swing the bat but I will say Bradley was painting the corners pretty well there.
  2. Nice rip Springer. I have a good feeling about this game you guys.
  3. What if Ernie Clement is good?
  4. So true. They think we are obsessed with them but I really think it's them who are obsessed with us.
  5. Yeah they've really shortened the bench lately. Biggio hasn't started a game in a while. Espinal has started two games in the past week and Lukes started one. So if they give Clement all of the bench starts (and frankly why not at this point) he could get a couple of starts a week. His stats in AAA are good right now. Crazy low K rate and his walks are up as well as his power. He's been playing everywhere with most of his time at SS which tells me he should at least be passable at 3B and 2B? Maybe he can stick?
  6. Not surprised he's on that list.
  7. 0 homers in May and a 53 wRC+. Looking like his April was an outlier.
  8. He's got one last ride in him. I believe.
  9. I think Brett Cecil was a college closer and the Jays turned him into a starter before turning him back into a reliever.
  10. Vlad's statcast page is looking very similar to his 2021 season. His launch angle is up and all the other numbers are similar or even better. He's clearly in a rut right now, I think they are all pressing a lot. But if he gets out of it he could yet be in for a big season.
  11. Even better let's bring back Gibby for the 3rd time
  12. I'm hoping to avoid a sweep but I like your optimism.
  13. So that was the only game this series where we had a favorable pitching matchup. The next three are: Game 2: Berrios vs. Bradley (we are -129 right now) Game 3: Kikuchi vs. McClanahan (likely will be big underdogs) Game 4: Manoah vs. Eflin (will be underdogs in this one but not as bad as game 3) Then it's on to Minnesota.
  14. This was another brutal game. The bats seem to be sloooowly waking up but hitting with RISP is still an issue. We also ran into more outs on the bases today and that error by Vlad was costly as it allowed 3 runs to score early on. Bassitt was fired up but the body language on a lot of these guys is really bad. Vlad looks really down right now especially. Schneider looks like he's in physical pain. Rough, rough stretch.
  15. The '53 Yankees hold the record with a 9 game losing streak during the season while winning the WS. The 2006 Cardinals had two separate 8 game losing streaks and won the WS. The '05 White Sox had a 7 game losing streak. Not sure how many have had 5 game losing streaks but I bet it's a fair amount. Of course, the longer this goes on not only the worse our chances get but it also solidifies that we just aren't very good. It's not quite panic mode yet, particularly with the 3 wild cards. 88 wins or so likely gets us in and we aren't that far off from that pace. Teams that are 25-23 are legit contenders. Teams with far worse records to start have gone on to win the WS all the time. But if we drop the next 3 games to the Rays we will be 12.5 back of them and I think the chances of winning the division is probably gone. WC will still be in play though.
  16. Someone will. Probably the hitting coach.
  17. If he didn't play for a last placed team I'd say KK is deserving of some MVP votes.
  18. Scratch that we are winning this one after that homer buy Whit
  19. Do you guys think we will ever win another game ever again?
  20. Our infielders can't even handle throws right now.
  21. The little s*** biting us in the ass again.
