Schneider managed this game fine.
Bassitt, like most pitchers, starts to fade against lineups the third time through the order. Regardless, we got the ball to Eric Swanson (our closer that night since Romano was out) with a 4 run lead.
Even then, Swanson pitched fine but the Dodgers got some BABIP ******** to drop.
Rojas single - .150 xBA
Smith single (Chapman error) - .210 xBA
Taylor single - .250 xBA
Even Outman's single had a less than 50% chance to be a hit.
I guess you could blame Schneider for pulling Whit instead of Espinal? Probably not a ton of difference between the two unless you rely heavily on this year's limited sample. And what happened wasn't even a defensive miscue, it was just pure laziness on Espinal's part.
