  1. Ernie Clement is having a crazy year at Buffalo. He's slashing .344/.421/.535 and has only 6 Ks in 181 plate appearances. His underlying numbers don't look bad either. BABIP is only .309 entering tonight and his ISO is near .190. The only problem with him is that this is his last year with an option so next year he either needs to be on the team or he's gone. But he could possibly be a bench guy.
  2. Pretty much all of Buffalo went off tonight. Ernie Clement and Horwitz both had 5-hit games. Barger had 2 hits. Orelvis with a homer in his first AAA game.
  3. Lol the team has been hot, we drop one game and the tired cliches come out.
  4. Why ship KK out? All we need is a platoon bat who can play some LF and DH to pair with him. Should be easy to acquire at the deadline.
  5. Screw Stroman, bring me Ohtani. Trade them Tiedemann, Kirk, Orelvis Martinez and Mitch White for Ohtani. Then in the offseason make Ohtani a fat offer. He'll most certainly walk but who cares we can say we tried and we got to watch the best player of all-time don a Jays jersey during a playoff run.
  6. Yeah he risks getting hit around some but there's no way he's worse than Manoah.
  7. Chug a beer and get the crowd fired up for the bottom half of the inning. The Padres suck we can beat them still.
  8. Come on ump. That was easily a strike.
  9. Yeah Cashman is on the hot seat too. I just personally can't stand Boone. He's a huge *******.
  10. It'll be perfect. Bellinger desperately pulling his soft looping flyballs just short of the porch while the team finishes .500 and Boone gets canned.
  11. Hoping the Yankees trade for him.
  12. This is going to be awkward when we trade him in a package for Max Scherzer at the deadline.
  13. What the heck are you guys talking about?
  14. Yeah I think Wrigley is really helping him. He's got a Gallo-like launch angle with putrid EVs and Wrigley is pumping up his homers anyway. He's got 12 but everywhere else in baseball he's got lower, even at Yankee stadium his xHR is 10
  15. I think your points about the injuries could be a factor and are a good point but it's hard to tell. He had a hot April, seemed to struggle surrounding an IL stint and is now hot again. How much the injury played a factor I'm not sure.
  16. Mr. Wait for His Pitch has a career low barrel rate too.
  17. The data suggests that you pulled this entire post out of your ass. His MAX EV is just .8 mph better than it was during the last two years when he was hitting like John McDonald. Career exit velo is the worst of his career by far. And if he's being more selective why is his walk rate lower?
  18. Yeah the K-Rate improvement makes him a serviceable starting player again but his xWOBA is .312.
  19. Was he projected to be a good fielder at 3B?
  20. My bad I missed him. TBH I don't know a ton about other teams' young prospects/players. I knew Walker was bad defensively but I didn't know his defense was so bad that moving him to DH actually increases his value. That's generationally bad defense to the point that Zips thinks he's about a 1 WAR player moving forward. And the list doesn't evaluate players in that way anyway. "Taking everything about a player into account, which players would garner the highest trade value, from any team, if every team viewed players the same way I do? It’s not the average value that each team would assign each player based on their respective competitive windows; just like real trades, in this hypothetical list, there’s a highest bidder, the team most motivated to acquire someone’s services."
  21. What makes you say that? Taken straight from the article: "Case in point: compare his ZiPS projections to Guerrero’s. They’re essentially the same, but Arozarena comes with an extra year of team control and his salary will be meaningfully lower."
  22. Kirk was 27th on last year's list. Walker will probably be ranked somewhere in the Top 30. People forget how good Kirk has been up until this year. His comps were Hall of Famers. Most didn't expect him to be THAT good moving forward but when you are putting up hitting stats like that at that age to go along with good defense (elite framing, good blocking and an average arm) at a premium position you are going to be a damn good player. He's fallen off a cliff this year but surely he'll get it going again soon.
  23. Yeah the extra year of control is everything on these lists and Vlad isn't exactly a bargain anymore after getting a 14.5M arb number this year.
  24. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2023-trade-value-nos-31-40/ Fangraphs' annual Top 50 trade value list is out. Kirk is #39 and Vlad is #35.
