  1. I think he’s definitely a CFer next year. Just not sure about C.
  2. It’s possible. But I’m not sure extending Jansen or bringing in another quality Catcher is a “must.” Aren’t you constantly complaining about the bullpen, pitching depth, etc. anyway? The team doesn’t have infinite resources. Two quality catchers is a luxury and Kirk should be good enough to hold the position down for the remainder of his contract. We’ve got Jansen for another year and that’s fine to keep him but any possible extension money could be used to fill other needs.
  3. He was #39 on Fangraphs' 2023 Trade Value List. Hard to top that.
  4. Yeah I thought for sure that Varsho would catch those Hiney-man games this year. Almost every team in the league runs out garbage 3rd catchers, most of which produce negative WAR. Putting a guy in there like Varsho who can produce positive WAR would have been an easy way to squeeze another half win or so out of him. But they didn't do that this year despite having KK in the fold and Whit available to play LF. Makes me think they just install Varsho as the every day CF and forego him Catching again.
  5. https://media.tenor.com/_gWvEereWuAAAAAC/angels-in-the-outfield-joseph-gordon-levitt.gif
  6. Ok if they don't even trust Mitch White when we are up 7-1 and everyone in the pen is gassed but him it's time for a DFA lol
  7. Scarfing down the extra large nachos out of a helmet bowl no less. Disgusting.
  8. Everyone hates Espinal right now which is expected after last night's brain fart cost us the game. But I've seen a lot of calls to option or even DFA him. But did you know that after starting off the season 2 for 31 he's been slashing .278/.355/.370 since April 17th? That's not terrible for a guy who can play 2B, 3B and SS.
  9. So now you're upset with me for posting about the newly acquired Genesis Cabrera's pitch usage? Why?
  10. Yeah that makes sense. We are probably going to trade one or two of these AAA infielders.
  11. McCoy must be good at defense or something because his bat is hot garbage. He plays almost all of his games at SS so it probably is at least decent. Doesn't need to be added to the 40-man.
  12. Like clockwork all you have to do is mention the name Bellinger and his simps will come running to his defense. It's like the movie Beetlejuice, only Beetlejuice had better hygiene and wasn't as big of a degenerate as some of these Bellinger Fanboys are.
  13. Aka the Bellinger Special.
  14. This is complete and total ********. The bullpen has been good and the numbers that Brownie posted bear that out. If you can point to anything, you can point to the core itself. Particularly Vlad, Kirk and Manoah. Those three have left about 6 wins on the table all by themselves. This has almost nothing to do with the bullpen.
  15. lmao you cannot be serious
  16. Wow you seem upset! I thought my post was pretty well reasoned. Number 5 talent who has struggled throughout his career has a short leash when it comes to the 3rd time through the lineup. I even said it can be frustrating. Who knew that take would warrant insults?
  17. Last Friday? Yeah I guess so but Kikuchi is on a short leash because he SUCKED last year and has an ERA over 6 the third time through the lineup in his career. A big part of why he's looked okay this year is because they don't let him face the lineup a 3rd time. It can be frustrating though when you watch the game and he looks like he's dealing.
  18. Then how do you explain last night's game where the pen gave up 1 run in 6 innings and we won in extras?
  19. OAA doesn't stabilize that quickly. If you think he was a "great 2B" last year then 30 games of data this year shouldn't change your mind so definitively.
  20. Tons of whining about pulling starters early but I guess no one meant Bassitt? All the whining comes from using our good relievers in all of these 1 run/extra inning butt clenchers without having an off day 9 games in a row?
  21. Did you even watch the game? The pen, including the guy we just acquired in a trade for a nobody prospect, was pretty damn good. Swanson didn't look amazing but let's be honest here, he got BABIP'd.
  22. I don't know who is a better defender tbh. Whit after moving from LF midgame (does that matter? idk) or Espinal after having played 2B all game? Espinal has graded out pretty damn good defensively in his career up until the limited sample this year. According to the metrics he had a GG caliber year at 2B last year. Whit also has generally graded out pretty well. Whit is definitely the better player so I suppose the remote chance that the game goes to extras should be a factor as you pointed out. Does giving Whit who is old a very small breather during this west coast road trip with no off days play a factor at all? Idk there either. So I guess we can hang Schneider for this but it doesn't seem like it's a total fiasco on his part unlike Game 2 of last year.
  23. Bassitt wasn't that sharp today (5.88 FIP). His ERA the first two times through the order is in the 3s and the 3rd time through it's well over 5. And oh yeah, he was at 105 pitches after issuing a leadoff walk that inning. I am no fan of Schneider but I don't get all the complaining about him not letting Bassitt pitch longer.
  24. So you are going to ignore all of the BABIP data I posted to argue semantics about what to call Espinal giving up on a play. Got it.
