  1. The favorites to sign Ohtani: 1. Dodgers - they check all the boxes In the mix: 2. Mets - Cohen money 3. Padres - West Coast team and an owner willing to spend 4. Yankees - could pony up the money and if he wants to be the greatest ever this would help him achieve that 5. Giants - west coast team who could pony up the money It's possible: 6. Boston Red Sox - could pony up the money and it's a good market for him but why go here instead of yankees 7. Texas Rangers - could pony up the money 8. Chicago Cubs - good market for him, could have money Extremely unlikely but conceivable: Phillies Mariners Cardinals Astros Braves Blue Jays Angels Nope: everyone else
  2. Cole and Judge aren't going to be producing like Hall of Famers forever either. Looks like a wasted year and it's going to take a pile of money in a garbage year for free agents to fix that mess.
  3. You actually can expect it to change. We are 6th in MLB in wRC+ as a team. But for some reason we are slashing .247/.324/.371 with runners in scoring position. That's down there with the Royals and A's and is unlikely to continue for a full season. It's amazing we are even in contention at all with luck like that but because we hit so well otherwise we have the 2nd most ABs in baseball with RISP which helps us score some even with the ineptitude.
  4. Definitely giving him credit for wearing that one. One of the few times I've ever seen a guy wear one when they should like that.
  5. Yeah not a great slide and he looked back. If he puts his head down and hustles more he beats that out. Bad play by Lukes there.
  6. Lukes pinch hitting over Schneider... Just send Schneider down at this point so he can at least get some at bats. They treat him like the 26th man.
  7. Oh ok, maybe it was a misunderstanding and it'll turn out okay in the end after all... Yikes....
  8. Could also throw Ryu into that mix depending on how he looks from here on out and if the opponent struggles against lefties.
  9. You're s***ing on Atkins and acting all incredulous because of a 5 year window of contention. Yet in the same breath you'll praise AA who built a two year window of contention. Makes no sense.
  10. The way he's going he might be better than Berrios lol If we can get into the playoffs I think the team is built to make some noise. A true ace in Gausman with 3 solid options behind him and a top notch bullpen and defense.
  11. My point is that Atkins has created a 2020-2025 window of contention (maybe the Covid year doesn't count but still) when AA created a two year window (although Atkins was in charge for that second year and probably does deserve some credit). And that's assuming the team is done after 2025 which I don't think is true at all. The extra wild card does make a difference but you're crowning AA as a success and Atkins as a failure when the AA team didn't even make the WS and the Atkins team's run of contention isn't even close to being over!
  12. The AAA infield is better than the major league bench infielders. I get they don't want all the AAA infielders riding pine on the big league club but surely they can find some playing time for the guy who has come up and shown that he can hit. Wouldn't even have to send Espinal down, they could just send Lukes down. But Schneider should be getting some major run right now and when Bo is back he should still be playing close to every day.
  13. Is Davis Schneider hurt? Can't even crack the lineup with no Bo and no Chapman.
  14. Judging by how sparingly they use him even with Bo on the IL I think you are probably right. But that would be a joke. I get that he isn't the perfect fit position wise, but he's better than Biggio, Espinal, DeJong and Lukes. He's probably on par talent wise with Belt, the Catchers (who the team seems to find ways to DH), KK and Varsho (the team has no problem getting these two regular playing time as well). Hell, he's probably better than Vlad at this point. There has got to be a way to get him into the lineup more consistently and it wouldn't be that hard. But apparently his defense at 3B isn't good enough and Biggio is just too talented to bench (lmao).
  15. Does Vlad know how bad he sucks? Or does he think he's having a decent year?
  16. I don't keep track of his individual performances, just looking at the overall picture. He was elite until 2020 and has since settled in to be a decent middle reliever. Except for the 8 innings we had him. And Silvio is foaming at the mouth about Atkins trading for Hand back in 2021. Well his hero Alex Anthopolopomusaraus just had a very very quiet trade deadline and among his big acquisitions he traded for BRAD HAND this very year. If the Braves don't win the World Series I expect him to move AA down to 3rd behind Branch Dickey and Mike Elias in his all-time GM rankings.
  17. The rope you guys give Biggio is COMICAL Babe Schneider comes up and tears the cover off the ball and the response is "Well Biggio has got to be playing everyday, he's been good since May. I wish Babe could play too though." Give me a break!! Babe Schneider >>>>>> Craig Biggio's son And it isn't even close
  18. What's funny about Brad Hand is that he's basically been pretty good both before and after his tenure with us. He just sucked ass for the 8 innings we had him lol. Even Alex Anthoupodopolous (tied with Mike Elias as the greatest GMs in baseball history since the legendary Branch Rickey) traded for him this very season.
  19. Dammit Silvio now we have two General Blue Jays discussion threads and I'm posting about Babe Schneider in the 2021 version.
  20. And yeah, Biggio has been good since May. But it's 135 ABs with a .259/.346/.437 slashline. SSS and not exactly lighting the world on fire either as it's fueled by a .326 BABIP (career .295 BABIP).
  21. Well if Biggio can't play 3B either then it's between he and Schneider for who is getting ABs at 2B. Looks like the team prefers Biggio.
  22. Craig Biggio's son just HAS to be in the lineup and it just HAS to be at 2B.
  23. NIL has to help as well.
  24. Babe Schneider is sitting again tonight. What the hell does this guy have to do to get into the lineup? A slashline of .400/.516/.680 isn't good enough? In fact it might earn him a demotion once Bo is back.
