  1. Sorry ass Red Sox
  2. Yankees are one of the better hitting teams against LHP. Kooch will need to pitch well.
  3. Snell gets the Rockies tonight in SD and could put up a big start. The Rockies have the worst road offense in baseball with a slashline of .231/.290/.364 as the visiting team. They are also the 2nd worst worst team against lefties with a .678 OPS. He's dominated the Rockies in two starts this year with 21 Ks and 1 BB in 11.1 innings. One start at home and one at Coors.
  4. Jays BA with RISP has been good since August.
  5. Would love to see them abolish the divisions altogether and just go AL and NL with the top 6 making the playoffs and the top 2 getting byes. Would make the standings so much easier to look at. They could even make getting the top record in each league special by calling that the "Pennant". So for example if the Braves get the top record in the NL this year they win the "National League Pennant".
  6. Speaking of moving the Rays, would we even want them to move to Montreal? Seems like that would be a negative for the Jays right? Or would it even matter that much?
  7. Why is probably worth exploring to see if it's fixable and IMO it's not given my stated reasons. But yeah you're right, they should move the team.
  8. I don't know where the animosity if coming from. It's an exciting time to for us Cavan Biggio fans! His bat is above league average for the first time since the pandemic and if he has a hot final two weeks he might actually crack 1 WAR on the year. What a stud!
  9. Part of the problem in Florida is how oversaturated it is with sports. 3 NFL teams, 2 MLB teams, 2 NBA teams and two NHL teams. 9 teams is a lot. On top of that, those pro sports also have to compete with college sports, especially college football which is probably the most popular sport in the state. So you can add in another 3 major teams (FSU, FU and Miami) to go along with another good team (UCF) and 3 other D1 teams (USF, FAU, FIU). Sports fans are getting spread pretty thin at this point. Then there are a lot of transplants as people mentioned, combined with a lot of those teams being pretty new and also not having a ton of success. Just not a great way to build up a generational fandom.
  10. Mitch White had another great start tonight. What the hell got into that guy?
  11. Mon: The playoffs will be easy to make Tues: The playoffs might not be easy to make Wed: We better win tomorrow or the playoffs won't be easy to make Thurs: The season is officially over Fri: The playoffs might just be easy to make after all
  12. lol they suck 16 out of 20 games come in and sweep us and go back to losing?
  13. holy s*** he did it
  14. for the love of god knock Kirk in
  15. Good luck Hurl, I poured everything I had into mine and it failed miserably
  16. When you are getting your ass kicked it can be hard to find the time to use your top relievers. Instead of using Richards would have been an easy spot. But otherwise he should have employed earlier hooks on guys. EDIT: Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
  17. Yeah toward the end of his next contract he's going to be playing good defense while hitting under the mendoza line. Easy pass.
  18. So true. Baseball is different than other sports in that you can't just get hyped up and go out there and crack skulls or try harder like in football or basketball. But you do need to have a competitive mindset to keep your brain sharp and John Schneider isn't exactly inspiring his troops into battle.
  19. Gibbons is out there in the playoffs playing 4D chess and you're playing checkers from your recliner pal. Gibbons knew the Rangers were going with the wheel play (because his "gut" told him) and he also knew that Elvis Andrus was on full tilt after his previous errors (also Gibby took one look at Andrus and could "see it in his eyes"). So he brilliantly called for the bunt down the third base line to force Andrus into making a play. And guess what? It worked brilliantly. Then you have the balls to come on to BJMB aka the Gibby Fan Club and criticize the guy for a play that worked? Wow
  20. Lol mention a manager and say he's not complete ass and the armchair BJMB managers will send you a half dozen posts within 30 seconds saying you're wrong I'm not a Dusty Baker fan in the slightest. I'm just saying for everyone dumping on Gibbons for using LaTroy Hawkins one time there are worse managers out there who are doing fine.
  21. Dusty Baker does pretty well for the Astros and he's hardly a good in-game strategist
