if the 26th man is going to barely play I can see why they would go with Vogelbach over Horwitz but what they should do is call up Horwitz and actually play him. Turner is old and needs days off and Horwitz can pinch hit a lot more. Steamer projects him for a 120 wRC+ for crying out loud. Surely they can find some playing time for him.

So Horwitz has played in 3 games at 2B recently. 3 in LF as well. Steamer projects him for a 119 wRC+ right now. Time to dump Vogelbach and call him up. I'm actually higher on Vogelbach than most here but it's impossible for him to succeed while playing once every two weeks. But calling up Horwitz could work because we could play him a lot more often. Against high velo righties he can play over Turner at DH. Can pinch hit fairly often and get some PT in LF and 2B too (which would allow us to superglue Biggio's nepo baby butt to the bench). Get him up here.

Seems like the changeup gives him something to attack lefties with. Decent fastball with a garbage slider/sinker against lefties is a death sentence of a combo. Add in the changeup and he can at least have a fighting chance against lefties.

So can Manoah’s stuff play moving forward? Probably requires good command but the 4 pitch mix anchored by a strong fastball could work I think. He increased his change up usage a ton. Probably a good idea against lefties.

I don't know what his deal is with the errors this year. In all of last season he had 19 errors while playing 3B and SS. This year he's got 10 while playing 2B. Are they throwing errors? Fielding errors? Why more errors at 2B than at 3B and SS?

Today was a good start. Everyone got on base today via 12 hits and 2 BBs. That's pretty damn good against the collection of pitchers the Phillies threw at us today. On top of it, Bassitt looked very good. Zach Pop is showing a pulse again. Mayza has been struggling but not including today he's got a 1.77 FIP since April 11.

Don't even bother getting into it with these clowns. The haters and losers are going to label you a simp because they have to. 99% of this board had concerns about the onfield performance team as well as the drafting and development entering the year. The Jays are off to a brutal start in this regard and if it carries on we all agree that Atkins should go. But in a lot of ways the "simps" more correctly identified Atkins' problems then the haters and losers did bc 90% of their bitching revolved around trades (Varsho), signings (IKF, Turner, etc.) or not reading the FA market correctly (so they could re-sign Matt Chapman) when Atkins has actually done a pretty good job in that regard. So even though they've basically been wrong about most of the stuff they've been bitching about, they feel vindicated about their blanket negativity because the results have been poor. But that's not enough because the "pro-Atkins" side (which doesn't even exist) can tell you exactly why the results have been poor so they have to lie and label you a simp. That way you are wrong and they and their misguided negativity are right.
