  1. Brian Serven OPSing .970 in Buffalo is all the proof I need to never trust these AAA numbers ever again lol
  2. AA left partially because he thought Shapiro would be too hands on. I think you are right to point out that Shapiro is probably involved but Ross is definitely the main guy making the decisions. Regardless, I'm not even sure it matters. If Shapiro isn't involving himself in the day-to-day that's a conscious decision to delegate on his part and he should be judged all the same. Perhaps he should be more hands on.
  3. Lol don't be so sensitive. You said something clearly wrong about Statcast and then told me to touch grass. Calling someone a dummy is a similar level of attack. You just feel extra bad because I completely dismantled your garbage point about how Statcast doesn't translate to wins.
  4. Wow I say one negative thing to your butt buddy and you come rushing in to defend his honor with a nursery rhyme lmao I don’t know who nicknamed you L54IQ and I refuse to use it because it’s too mean but he really was on to something there
  5. I don’t know why they haven’t tried sacrificing a hitting coach at a minimum. Just to change things up.
  6. Lol yes it does you dummy. You just don’t know how to read it. Let me help by dumbing it down for you: Red = good, blue = bad We’ve got a lot of blue going on right now.
  7. Shapiro would have to get more hands on in that scenario. Or Atkins gets canned and Click is the interim?
  8. We are still here it's just hard to get a word in with all you inbreds (who don't even know how to read a statcast page) gleefully celebrating every loss
  9. Wow it looks like my fan club is out in full force today! Multiple mentions by name. I love you all too.
  10. Highlights of the game so far: -Bassitt gets his 900th career K on a pitch clock violation -the hats
  11. Lol in his career he had 31 steals in 105 games with zero ABs I know teams kept designated pinch runners like this around but I didn't know any of them were that extreme. I kind of wish we would try it again with the new rules instead of carrying Vogelbach. Tom Lawless was one of the more famous pinch runner types. He's famous for hitting a home run in the 87 WS and having an epic bat flip after.
  12. George Springer could literally shoot someone in the middle of Yonge St. and he still wouldn't get dropped from the leadoff spot Also, this one is on Apple TV
  13. I apologize (because I have class unlike others) but I had to give BC a lesson on probability. It worked because he now agrees with me that the Jays have a 23% chance of making the playoffs.
  14. I guess my point on it being a little bit over the top is that it's hard to consider a team with essentially a .500 record over that span as a bottom 5 org. They have us tied with the Rockies but we have averaged 81 wins a year during this span and the Rockies have averaged 75. But because the Rockies made the WS (we are still tied with them for WS wins though!) they are tied with us. But yeah, it hasn't been a great 30 years for us no matter how you slice it.
  15. They should really call them both up. These aren't high pedigree, 21 year olds that we need to treat carefully and play everyday. They are mildly interesting AAA guys in their mid 20s who are showing some interesting things in the minors. We should see what they've got. Dump Biggio and Vogelbach and play these guys more by sitting Turner and Springer a little bit more.
  16. They moved him to the Development List.
  17. L54 is right that this is all highly semantical (and probably a bore to follow so you can have the last word) but I'm the one who pointed to Fangraphs and the 23% chance. Ever since then you've been jumping down my throat saying I overestimate their chances. But if you think it's 23% now too then it looks like I did a good job of convincing you to join my side. Though you'll never admit it because you're a stubborn old bastard lol.
  18. Lol looks like someone needs a lesson in probability. This is third grade stuff so bear with me bud. You said "Its highly improbable" that they make the WC. I disagree. Now simply because I disagree, that doesn't necessarily mean that I think it's "probable" or "likely" that they make the WC. It doesn't even mean I think it's an "even chance." Are you following? I would describe their chances as "unlikely but possible." So better than "highly improbable" (as you said) but less than an "even chance". If you want me to put a number on it I would say 1 out of 4. So with all that said, I reject your fake benevolence and your stupid bet. Instead, I will be waiting for your apology. But given the amount of class you've been showing lately, it's "highly improbable" that I'll get one.
  19. I swear you people can’t read lol. Because Spanky and I and a couple of others are the only guys who don’t think the season is over 4.5 games out on May 16 we come across as some sort of eternal optimists that you guys want to take all your frustrations out on. I never said it was highly probable that they make the WC. What I said is that there’s a good chance this team is playing meaningful games in September. I didn’t say October, I said September. The projections back this up.
  20. They kind of know they suck but also not really. At least for them they have had some major stars over the years. Serious HoF talent. The faces of our franchise are mostly Hall of Good players.
  21. It’s not highly improbable is my point. It’s 1 in 4 right now. We are projected to finish about 4 games out of a WC spot right now which means that this team is likely to be playing meaningful games in September. And yet you’re talking about how it’s almost mathematically impossible and using Lloyd Christmas’s one in a million quote.
  22. It’s a little over the top but there’s def some truth to it. 3rd place finishes make for more watchable seasons but in the long run it doesn’t count for much. Even the Rockies, the biggest joke in North American sports, made it to a WS so it’s not like we’ve had it that much better than them. But I think it shows why this fanbase is always so negative and pessimistic despite having a good team the past 4 years. Nothing good ever happens to us so we expect it to continue. One of these days we will get some good fortune.
  23. This is a little bit melodramatic. Fangraphs still gives us a 23 percent chance to make the playoffs. If we had a good 2 week stretch that would jump up dramatically.
  24. It’s not even close to over. The division may be realistically out of reach but the WC is still very attainable with the 3 WC format.
