  1. Why? So we can put a bag over her head and tape her mouth shut? I know teenage boys are horny for just about any piece of ass but that's really pushing the limits.
  2. One bad judgement call against a list of prudent moves.
  3. In the unlikely event that he can spin DeRozan and Ross into Durant, John Tory should just step aside and make him the mayor of the city. But that's something to think about a couple of months from now. Hopefully this team has provided Casey with enough evidence to show who he needs to run out there and the Raps can win a couple of rounds.
  4. Ujiri will find a way. The same man who got rid of Bargnani, remember?
  5. Gotta love how deep this team is. Also looking forward to the cap space next year when DeRozan and Ross are out the door.
  6. The State of the Blue Jays for the first two weeks: 7-7 4-4 on the road (8 out of 14 on the road, 4 of those at TB where the Jays have stunk for the past decade) 3.7 runs against per game (really, really good) 4 runs scored per game (disappointing) 7-3 starting pitchers combined record (the Jays have been in pretty much every game, or blown late) 3 regulars batting less than .150 (unsustainable) Happ and Sanchez pitching over their heads? (Debatable, but not a definite conclusion) I see very little to be concerned about. The offensive will sort itself out. Meanwhile the starting pitching might not be as good as we have seen so far, but there's a chance it is better than what we were hoping for coming into the season.
  7. You have a site here that's focused in terms of interest and geography, so you can do a lot better than Adsense if you're serious about making more money. 1. Amazon affiliate and sprinkle Jays memorabilia links around. It's pretty easy to do and the commission should at least be better than Adsense, though not much better. 2. Set up some sort of Groupon or RetailMeNot deal with local restaurants, bars and other businesses where you print off a coupon from this site and you get a 10% discount on the evening immediately following Blue Jays games. Either sprinkle the coupons around on the site or have its own dedicated section if you get enough demand. It could also work for Raptors or Leafs games in the off-season. You just need to send a form email to every potential customer within a 2 km radius of the Rogers Center or ACC or go door-to-door if you're really ambitious. 3. Get some rep at Rogers on the phone and see if you can become a partner site for the Jays. For what exactly, I don't know. It's your site so you'd have to figure that one out. If you're too lazy or busy to do all this stuff, especially #2, hire one or more of these school-aged guys to do it as a summer job and share the commission with them. Then the only thing you need to do is the back-end work on the site and maybe some accounting/auditing and relationship management with any clients you do get.
  8. Exactly. Jays were one game under at the all-star break last year. With the level of parity in the AL there might be no teams out of it in July.
  9. Yes, I'm going to be "that guy" in this thread. You don't sign Smoak, you do sign Lowe and you don't trade Revere or Hendricks and several of the team's problems go away with a slight savings on salary. Even if Revere gets injured in the alternate universe where he's still on this team, the roster is constructed in a way where Pompey can come in to replace him. At least when Anthopoulos f***ed s*** up, he went grand, all in, and went down in a flaming ball of fire.
  10. Exactly. I'd be a lot more disturbed if the Jays were 5-6 scoring 8 runs a game and everyone outside of Stroman was pitching like s***. Martin and Tulowitzki can't be batting .100 forever and the other guys who are can be replaced relatively easily if need be.
  11. You mean the starters have generally been covering more than their fair share. I'm actually pretty optimistic. If the rotation can stay decent and the offense outside of the big three remember how to hit the Jays can go on another one of their patented 11 game win streaks soon enough.
  12. Oh man the first thing that comes to my mind is the Manchester United AIG shirts *shudders*
  13. Give it to one of those 15 year olds. This needs a 60 year commitment, like owning a parrot.
  14. If it doesn't interest you then don't watch or comment about it. Especially that second one...on here. Do you see me spending my time lamenting about the boring state of golf in threads?
  15. Raptors lost 115-110 at GS Lost at home 112-109 to the Warriors. They were hardly dominated. Plus the Raps have a winning record or split season again every other team with more than 50 wins this year and that was without Carroll for most of the year and before Powell's break out.
  16. This is such an incredibly stupid comment, even from you a poster who has proven to set the bar rather low for himself, that even though you already got called out on it, I can't resist adding onto the pile. Even if the Warriors go 16-0, the Raptors still had an amazing year. 56 wins, seasonal records made this year. Three straight division titles. Two all-stars in their prime and several more players on the rise which bodes well for the next 2 or 3 seasons. Those are all worthy accomplishments. And that completely discounts other people's comments where the Warriors are not a lock. Games still need to be played.
  17. I know, I was half-expecting something at the end like "oh wait, we're bigger than Boston, haha Boston sucks!!!" But I think he meant in terms of being a sports town and with the sports history. The Leafs have been around forever, but with the Jays at 40 years and the Raptors at 20 (and living off the Bills and Argos for football), the city is young when it comes to major league sports history.
  18. Just like Votto is destined to come to Toronto...oh wait. Lots of things can happen between now and 5 years from now. Most people won't want to sign him to a 10 year $450 million contract anyways, or whatever it'll take to sign a free agent elite pitcher in 2020.
  19. I believe that you have made a good bet.
  20. Hutchison could be #5 and Sanchez in the pen. Both improvements on the current situation.
  21. Survey says: Pound the over like there's no tomorrow on the Vegas line of 87.5 wins. Homer crowds give homer responses, but home team crowds also know their team the best and even the guys who are grounded in analytics are predicting 90+.
  22. We had years of people bitching about AA's handling of depth and filling out the last few roster spots. While that may have been warranted, here's a case of the grass being greener on the other side. No problem releasing Delabar, but the team has to bend over backwards to keep Carrera. Tepera makes the team but Hutchison does not, all in an effort to assure Sanchez a starting job. And this stuff is happening in a win year. Let's just hope that by the time May roles around the injured players are back, no one else gets injured and these roster anomalies sort themselves out.
  23. Last years pythag wins:102 Less: David Price 2.5 WAR Add: Toluwitzki full year 3 WAR Add: Stroman full year 2.5 WAR Less: Star player regression/injuries 7 WAR Add: Ryan Goins awesomeness factor 5 WAR Total wins in 2016: 103
  24. If Martin goes down, putting Donaldson behind the plate, EE at third and Montero at DH is probably the better defensive scenario than Montero catching.
  25. It's funny because it feels like not too long ago this board was bustling at the thought of the Jays picking up Montero for an offense that was top-heavy and depth-free. Now on the surface Montero looks like the last thing the Jays need but if Colabello and/or Smoak fall of the face of the earth, he could be a good depth piece.
