  1. My first thought was that was Dogg. My second thought was the Mods don't check in very often...lol. I couldn't bring myself to read the entire post. I just went on to thinking about the Jays again.
  2. Scott Mitchell tweeted out today that 3rd base is a realistic chance for Moreno and he will be getting reps at 3rd in spring after having done some off season work preparing.
  3. Seager at 24 mil....Yuck. There's no way the Jays are taking on 92 mil in salary anyways.
  4. I definitely don't want Seager. I would be really happy to get Seager. I just can't see it happening.
  5. I'm sorry sir....Your credit card was declined.
  6. Because he's not a very good pitcher who is hurt a lot. 8 mil for a 6th starter....no thanks. We don't have Dodger money to splash that kind of cash for depth.
  7. i'm so happy Heaney is off the board.
  8. No QO for Kershaw either. I have a suspicion he's 5 pitches from tommy John surgery so that's a risky play. I'd definitely be in on Rondon. I'm shocked he didn't get a QO. With no draft pick attached he's a logical person to go after.
  9. How old is Kirk? Also a reason I thought about him at 3rd.
  10. I think you guys are crazy. I mean I could be wrong. I also think he's too good of a player to wait until mid june to avoid an extra year of arbitration. He's up 3 and half weeks into the season for me. Vlad came up in his age 20 season. Next year will be Moreno's age 22 season.
  11. That's a unique out of the box way to look at things Jim. Rookies have a hard enough time of it as it is. I would be shocked if they went to him and said we want you to split your time defensively between 3rd and catcher.
  12. It's really going to be a great off season. I still like the Verlander gamble. Moreno just can't be held back. He's a wrecking ball that can't be stopped. He should be up almost as soon as that extra year is secured at the end of April unless things change in the new collective agreement. The muddled part is Jansen and Kirk. Jansen just confused things with his ridiculous run with the bat at the end of the year. I feel entirely confident with Kirk and probably more confident in his defense than most. This is why I've had thoughts that maybe Moreno could be moved to third since he was signed as a middle infielder and he has a cannon for an arm. He played one game at third last year too. Why did he play a game at third..lol I kind of like the idea of him at third and his bat in the lineup most nights. If they do keep Moreno at catcher they have to trade one of the three players. Who will it be? Semien. To bring back or not to bring back. Will Boras make that imposssible? I really like the thought of him being brought back. I would like Ray back, but am kind of resigned to the thought that someone will offer him too much money too. Kershaw. What's the injury risk? A high risk high reward type guy. Lots on the scrap heap as well. Rodriguez is by no means a guy without some intrigue for me. Martinez is a guy of interest for sure. The injury guys...Rosenthal, Yates, Paxton, kluber...low base with incentives. So many free agents at varying price points that could be compelling for us. The high end talent like Correa, Scherzer, Seager, Bryant that we won't likely be in on but will take dollars away from other teams. I'm pretty pumped to see things get going. Probably still 3 weeks away from the much action happening though. Good thing I have soccer Canada to keep me occupied!
  13. How much do you think Seager will cost?
  14. I can't believe the believe the disrespect Espinal gets. Yeah, he has no power, but he is a tough out. He put up 2.2 wins in less than a half a season's worth of at bats. His defense is very good. Even if he did have some luck with the bat, he's still a pretty solid player. A 12% strike out rate. 6.8% swinging strike rate. He still takes his walks at a tick above average rate. I don't view Seager or Escobar as an upgrade on Espinal. Steamer has them both projeced at 1.9 over a full season. 1.3 wins for Espinal over 200 less ABs They aren't an upgrade. Save the money and put it into pitching.
  15. Lourdes has a pretty good outfielder jump. He obviously lacks speed, but his reaction time and routes are actually really good. The long run to a high shallow pop fly isn't his play, but with his arm and jump on hard hit balls he's a decent left fielder.
  16. We definitely have to move one of them if they are all staying at catcher. Moreno was initially signed as a middle infielder. He has a cannon for an arm which serves him well behind the plate, but would also serve him at 3rd. He did play one game at third this year in the minors and took some reps there so they've at least tinkered with the idea.
  17. Yeah, but that's assuming we can get one of the Marlins pitchers, which I don't think we will be able to do.
  18. Can't we just put Moreno at 3rd and get his bat in the lineup almost every night. He should be up early in the season next year. Vlad played his age 20 season in the majors. Bo played his age 21 in the majors. Moreno will be in his age 22 season next year and he's destroying the minors.
  19. My bro does. One of his friends at his boat club had Cito down for drinks at the bar and my brother had beers and watched the blue Jay game with Cito. He said he was a gem. My brother isn't a big ball fan though. He probably doesn't know who Dusty Baker is...lol.
  20. Yeah, but Acuna is on the IL and he is the core of that team...so..lol. Give AA some credit. He's a good GM. We have a good GM. We don't need to endlessly debate who is better. I'm glad the Braves are in the World Series. Freddie Freeman is the man. I love that guy. I can't stand the dodgers. I'm glad they lost.
  21. Verlander is one of the guys I would love for the Jays to sign. I wonder if Verlander and Springer got on in Houston and if he'd have any positive influence in making that happen.
  22. You offer 3 and 30. That's what he's worth. If you offer him 18.4 he'll take it in a heart beat.
  23. The thing about Verlander is he's not trying to bounce back. The last time he pitched a full season he won the Cy young..lol. He now hasn't pitched 2 years because of injury/covid. At 39 what does that cost you and what kind of pitcher can he be? I think he's a fascinating name for the off season. I'll be curious as to what kind of contract he commands and where he goes. I'd gamble on him, but I always like the high risk high reward guys and I'm often wrong..lol.
  24. Really hope Houston nails this down. With the Celtics getting booed off the court after the Raptors crushed them on the day that the Sox get knocked out it just seems fitting. The Jays were a better team than the sox this year.
