  1. You got that right. Only player to get in unanimously is a relief pitcher. The other player closest (missed by 1 vote) didn't even finish his career in the top 5 at his position. Both were Yankees though.
  2. According to this link Bonds and Clemons are still in the running. https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=F2E5D8FC5199DFAF!39939&ithint=file,xlsx&authkey=!AK9u16pmWGGlQsI
  3. Is there any way to allow fans to vote out BBWAA voters?
  4. Depends, whats the other side of the deal looks like?
  5. For every dollar a team is under the cap they lose $2 in revenue sharing. To get a rough idea on what teams currently get through revenue sharing... https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Revenue_sharing "In Major League Baseball, 48% of local revenues are subject to revenue sharing and are distributed equally among all 30 teams, with each team receiving 3.3% of the total sum generated. As a result, in 2018, each team received $118 million from this pot. Teams also receive a share of national revenues, which were estimated to be $91 million per team, also in 2018."
  6. I see this having more negative effects than positive. You'd see less top prospects making midseason promotions, teams would hold off until the beginning of next season so they have a chance at a pick. And less breakout prospects get called up; guys ranked 173rd this year, but he's demolishing AA/AAA, why wouldn't they just hold him down until next season when he's inside the top 150. It also gives the award voters way too much power.
  7. Draft order is updated and draft room is open. If anyone sees anything wrong let Liakia know.
  8. Draft Lottery Results. Pick # Team 1 Greenwood (3 Balls) 2 Real Baseball Guys (4 Balls) 3 wOBA The Hutt (5 Balls) 4 Seniors Circuit (2 Balls) 5 (insert clever name) (1 Ball) Laikia and Adom were both emailed the results since their emails were the only ones handy.
  9. Okay, I'll run the draft order and set up the draft picks/room this morning. I'll set a tentative draft date for mid-Feb, can always be changed.
  10. This is interesting to think about. Assuming he can't play 3B, and we roll with Jansen/Kirk at C. Do we trade him for an OFer like Riley Greene or Brennen Davis; or bolster our rotation with Shane Baz or Grayson Rodriguez. Or someone like CJ Abrams or Noelvi Marte with the idea of moving them over to 3B.
  11. Is the lottery for the top 5 picks weighted or flat odds? I can't remember. 20th - 5 balls 19th - 4 balls 18th - 3 balls 17th - 2 balls 16th - 1 ball
  12. I'm all for this too. He's made 100M for his career, both him and his future generations are set up. Instead of an 8 month grind he gets to relax, be with his wife, play with his kids, have one game a week in a softball beer league.
  13. I wanna know what is going through people's minds when they vote for Ortiz and Sheffield, but leave Bonds, Clemens, and A-Rod off the ballot. PED use is fine for some players but not okay for others?
  14. I'm not fully sure how prospects are valued in hockey. Zadina was top 10 last year or something. Going by the first list I found Lundell is 10th, Frost is 13th, Eklund is 17th.
  15. It's more the fact that you're pulling from just a portion of the talent pool. It'd be like cutting out half the MLB batters and half the pitchers Bonds faced and replacing that half with scrubs from the minors. If you did that his WAR/wRC+ would go up because the stats of an "average" player would go down and change what a replacement player is.
  16. Not sure if this is sarcasm? He was below average in RF in the majors. He has a cannon for an arm, but that's it. The league leader in OPS (Jon Singleton) signed for a minors deal.
  17. Is he still good though? Would he be worth more then an MiLB deal. He's 31, and was just out OPS'd in the Mexican league by a 39 year old Adrián González. Other notable players that were better then him include Kennys Vargas, Luis Sardiñas, and Alexi Amarista
  18. It might be a combo of things that took him to Korea, I wouldn't say he was really blackballed. He first priced himself out of the market when he became a free agent, he had been offered a 1 year deal for 10M, which he should have taken. He only had 1.2 WAR the season going into free agency, and only 1.8 prior to that. Teams don't want commit longterm to a 1 WAR player with supposed attitude problems. He was about to sign a contract with the Braves in 2020, but caught covid so they didn't go through with the signing. Then the sexual assault lawsuit happened so no team probably wanted the publicity from that while it was ongoing, that just got settled in October. And this offseason probably only got minor league offers so he decided to go to Korea for more money. I could see him getting offers next offseason for a guaranteed multimillion deal if he tears up the KBO.
  19. Picture a team with 5 Guerrero's. All different shapes and sizes. Some play the OF, maybe even get a middle infielder from one of them. Would be a pretty cool thing to see. Might give us an inside track with their kids as well. By 2075 we could have a 40-man roster comprised of just Guerrero's great-grandchildren.
  20. Suzuki also has some infield experience. Could do a 3B tryout between him and Gurriel in ST to see how each of them look there.
  21. Rodon is such a risky 1 year sign, surgery might be right around the corner for him and the Whitesox may know. Only way I'm giving him a 1 year high aav deal is if there's an option attached. Something like 1Y/23M with a team option for 2023 @ 2M. The team option becomes a player option if he pitches 120 innings.
  22. Yup, I’ll take Geraldo Perdomo
  23. Brubaker, Taylor, Margot, Toglia, Espinoza would be swapped no questions asked for an up coming pick.
  24. I'd be interested in a pick
  25. I’d be interested in trading for an upcoming pick. Hit me up if you see a player or package that might work!
