    Alonso and Santander are pretty near the same thing. How much more is Alonso asking for above what Santander signed for. It sounds like his ask is unrealistic. He turned down a 3 year 23aav offer from the Mets.

    LA and SD are both scrambling to trade for more international bonus money. I think he’s picking the Jays, and they both know it. They’re making one last ditch effort to buy him, but he can’t be bought. Or they’re going to try and sign the players the Jays had verbal agreements with. Either way, I think we got him. I’m ordering my Sasaki jersey today to beat the rush.

    I have a feeling Vlad is asking for a contract that matches Soto’s. Could explain why there haven’t been much contract negotiations from the Jays side. If his ask is outrageous, and he’s not willing to budge, there’s nothing really for the Jays to discuss with him.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if Vladdy is asking for a total that matches Soto or higher. If he changed his ask after Ohtani was sign and after Soto signed he might be wanting same as these guys.     Gimenez isn't just defense, he also adds some SBs which casuals like. I predict he's a fan favourite by the end of next season. Great infield defense involves more diving and acrobatics(more flash) vs outfield which is more about jumps and routes(less flash), fans will eat this up. He's had back to back 30SB seasons; the last player to steal 30 bases for the Jays was Jose Reyes. Only people complaining about this deal this time next year will be the same handful of people on here that complain that the sky is not the right shade of blue.
