  1. Wow, that's a surprise. I drafted him in the board redraft league thinking this guy was still young enough and oozing with talent to finally put it all together. If the Nats have soured on him, definitely worth a flier maybe at some point.
  2. You're better waiting until the season starts and if the Jays get off to a slow start like they did last season, that O/U will drop and you'll get better odds on them for the AL and World Series. I'm likely betting the Athletics for over 78.5 wins. Going to make some other bets for fun before the season starts like player awards and division winners.
  3. Yeah it really is a coin toss. A lot of it will come down to health and luck. Only difference this year is the Orioles and Rays should be better in 2026, which make the division more challenging. Will be important to bank wins early if its projected to be this close and also play well against divisional opponents. Should be a fun season!
  4. On his MLB page, says 9 games and 9 starts and 44 innings at 2B vs. 5 games/24 innings in LF.
  5. Yeah that was the first thing that caught my attention. Even when playing MLB the Show 26 yesterday as the Jays, I'm like there is real no cleanup hitter in this lineup lol. Will be interesting to see how Schneider manages the lineup against RHP vs, LHP. I think you definitely get Schneider in there at 2B and would love to see Eloy as a DH. I think Kirk probably is best as the cleanup hitter behind Vladdy. I would like to see Vladdy hitting #2 so he get's more AB's, but I understand if he's not comfortable there. Barger I think hitting #2 or #3 against RHP is fine. Gives you some pop early in the lineup.
  6. Yeah the schedule was really bush league. How do you schedule the Finals a day after the semis? Both teams should have a day off (so either both teams play in the semis on the same day or one team has two days off, while the other has one day off). WBC Finals should have really been tonight.
  7. You're playing every game in your own backyard. How about a team like Japan and Korea having to play games in the US? How about Canada having to go down to Puerto Rico to play games? This tournament schedule definitely benefits the US more than any of the other teams competing in this tournament. I want to see Japan host the WBC Finals next time.

  9. I would have Springer ahead of Teo, hands down. You can argue that Springer hit one of the most important HR's in Blue Jay history last Game 7 of the ALCS.
  10. Makes your realize how close Canada could be to winning a WBC. Even with a roster missing some important pieces, they won their pool and kept things against the US very close. If Italy could make the Final 4, Canada could as well. Anything could happen in these types of tournaments.
  11. Yeah agreed 100%. If the US knew Skubal could only make one start this entire tournament, why not save him for the semis or Finals. Was a waste using him against Great Britain.
  12. Nothing wrong with that. Gausman, Bieber, Scherzer and Lauer will be FA's which leaves a rotation of Cease, Yesavage, Ponce and Berrios on paper. You definitely need to add some arms again next offseason.
  13. Yeah the World Cup, Olympics, Euro Cup etc., are always held in different countries. Japan or Dominican or Australia or Mexico should host the WBC Finals including quarters and semis. Shouldn't always be the US.
  14. Also, I think the WBC shouldn't always be hosted in the US mainly, but I understand why it is. Money and to get more MLB players to play. In terms of fairness, why can't the WBC Semis and Finals be held in Tokyo one year? A lot of Asian teams like Japan are at a disadvantage when they have to come to the US after in terms of time difference/jet-lag. Like the US team played all their games in Houston and Miami. Not fair or equitable. I would like to see the USA have to play in Japan and win a WBC Championship. Japan has 3 times on American soil. Pretty much team USA has the easiest schedule always in terms of always playing in the US, where other teams have to travel across different time zones or play in different countries.
  15. Nothing wrong with shorter term deals on some vets if the price is right. You don't have to sign every arm to 5+ years. We even saw this past offseason, guys like Framber, King, and many other signing 3-year-deals or less. Only two pitchers who signed 5+ were Ranger Suarez and Dylan Cease. If you were a team, nothing wrong going year-to-year with a vet like Woodruff or Ray.
  16. Luzardo would have been nice, but Phillies locked him up already. Otherwise, there is Peralta, Alcantara, Woodruff, Rogers, Ray, Mize, Bubic, Rasmussen, or Pivetta (could opt out).
  17. If Reed Johnson is in the Top 50 - I believe Catalanotto should be with him, since from 2003-2006, they both formed one of the best LF platoons in baseball. Ray won the Cy Young in 2021, but yeah wasn't here for that long. Morrow when healthy was one of the most dominant starters in baseball - shame he couldn't stay healthy. Pillar made some highlight reel catches in CF for a couple years, but he was nothing special. Escobar had an up/down career when with Toronto, but was an exciting pitcher to watch when "on" and he was here for 6 years. Romero's story is quite cool - drafted ahead of Tulo, flamed out as a prospect but came out of nowhere in 2009 and was a solid arm for 2-3 seasons.
  18. The only teams that likely could give Skubal a $400-500M contract if they want to are the Mets, Yankees, Blue Jays and Dodgers. Yankees/Mets have the money to spend big and likely will be wanting to add an elite arm. Blue Jays have shown they're willing to fork out monster deals for the right players in previous offseason's - Ohtani, Soto, Tucker - and Skubal definitely is in that group. Dodgers rotation is already crowded and likely would have to trade some arms, but never count them out. I don't see any other teams getting involved with Skubal at those years and dollar figures. Phillies resigned Luzardo, so don't seem them at all being a dark horse anymore. Also, will be interesting if the Pirates entertain trading Skenes next offseason.
  19. What would Yesavage be capped at for regular season + postseason innings? 160 innings?
  20. I know a lot of Irish/Italians. Very common here.
  21. You probably have more Italian blood in you Jay than some of the players on the team :P
  22. Hopefully the Italians pull off a miracle!
  23. Rooting for the DR tonight! US overall haven't looked that dominant. This semifinals will probably be the Finals. Whoever wins - DR or US - likely beats Venezuela or Italy.
  24. Jays likely to monitor his workload early on. Jays are building up Yesavage slowly: just threw a 35-pitch simulation on March 11 and scheduled for more work on March 16. Hasn't appeared in any Grapefruit League games.
