They actually had a pretty deep rotation before the injuries hit.
If everyone were healthy, it would look something like:

That’s decent depth. But AA didn’t really pivot after Schwellenbach, Waldrep, and Wentz went down and with Strider going down at the end of spring training, the rotation is now in a tough spot. Lopez is now being pushed into the No. 2 spot, and they’re forced to rely on guys like Holmes, Elder, and Suarez to round out the rest of the rotation.
