  1. Wow, seriously someone dropped Josh Beckett in this deep of a league? I mean I know he has struggled, though in a deep league like this, you at least hold onto him and hope he regains his form. He's had some nice starts this year.

Guys, this is why Gibbers is right. You should never get emotionally attached to any sports team, because things like this happen all the time. Its good to just be a sports fan in general.

  5. +1 Exactly. The Yankees got decent years out of vets like Colon and Garcia (both pitchers who were on the downhill). Same with Wells, Overbay, and Hafner. They've been extremely lucky that all those 3 guys have panned out so far. Rarely happens. We've seen the Jays try to pick up players in the past like Kevin Mench, Brad Wilkerson, Shannon Stewart, and they've all stunk. I'm sure Mark DeRosa would be having an All-Star year (2006-2008 version) if the Yankees signed him lol. Also, Ramon Ortiz would likely have a decent year haha. Crazy!
  6. From what they've all done in the first month and a half of the season, they've been solid pickups and short term replacements till guys like Tex, Granderson etc get back. I can't believe I'd be saying that in the middle of May, that all 3 have been solid, though thats the truth. It's really rare that a team would strike gold on three questionable players like that, though the Yankees sure have so far.
  7. The Yankees have managed to find ways to pick up some solid veterans at low costs to plug into their lineups with all the injuries they've had. Always loved the Hafner pickup, since he could definitely take advantage of that short porch in right. Angels are mostly paying the entire contract of Vernon Wells, and he's definitely capable of putting up solid numbers like he did in 2010 at that ballpark. Lyle Overbay is having a good season as well. I don't know what to say really - Yankees just got lucky with all those pickups, because most of the time, maybe only one low risk move like those pans out. Funny when the Jays picked up scrubs in years past who've had success, none of them provided any value. Really the Yankees have been extremely lucky with the production they've gotten out of Vernon Wells, Hafner and Overbay. Not saying they are bad players, but they've managed to all stay healthy and everything has gone right. They've had a lot of good luck to start the year nailing the Wells, Hafner and Overbay pickups.
  8. Tim Lincecum will be in town for two days. Call up Jeffress to Toronto and watch out! Lincecum, Blanco, Jeffress all out on the town!
  9. I hope they give Jenkins another couple of starts rather than Ortiz. There is nothing to lose since the teams record isn't all that great anyways. See what you have in Jenkins. Maybe he pitches like Litsch did in 2008 for the rest of the way, which would definitely be welcoming to this rotation.
  10. Zito has pitched well this season and Volgelsong despite his struggles has had solid K rates and could be on verge of having a start where he turns it around. I wouldn't say sweep, though a split is definitely reasonable.
  11. What do you want for B.J. Upton? Send me an e-mail.
  12. Who would have started Lyles vs. the Rangers?
  13. Guys, I'm looking to package d'Arnaud for a pitching upgrade to my MLB roster. Also, looking to move some young pieces like Mike Olt, Avasail Garcia, and Jacob Turner.
  14. I've got Drabek stashed on my DL in Fantasy Challenge. He has great stuff, and he may just be a pitcher who takes time to figure and iron things out. Though yeah, not expecting much from him. Can't wait for Hutch to return though!
  15. Thanks. He needed a young SS, so Didi gives him a better option of what he already had. I really like McCarthy, and I know he isn't this bad. The ONE big inning has really hurt him this season from when I've watched him. His strikeout rates have increased the past couple of starts, and he still has sustained an excellent low BB rate. Plus, with my pitching the way it has been (Doc on the DL for who knows how long; and with the Price is Wrong!), hopefully McCarthy turns it around and adds some stability to my rotation.
  16. Didi is available in trade. Send me a wise offer.
  17. I sent you an e-mail. Is your team the Jurassic Cats?
  18. Isn't the Cat Ass name Jurassic Cats? I just sent him an e-mail haha
  19. Gibbers will be at Maple Leaf Square tonight wearing his Kadri jersey.
  20. Ozuna has a lot of raw power. Not sure he'll hit for much of an average, though his bat will play at a corner. I drafted him in Fantasy Challenge last year and then traded him in the offseason, which I'm kind of regretting. Arenado in the third round is looking like a steal for me!
  21. I've put some players on the block - Howie Kendrick, Tex, Seth Smith, Mike Olt (check the Yahoo league). Also, other players like Pedro Alvarez, Trevor Plouffe, Jacob Turner, Avsail Garcia, Didi, Tommy Hanson are available as well. Prospects like d'Arnaud, Singleton, and Matty Davidson are also available.
  22. Jay, your good friends with Brett Lawrie?
