  1. Hopefully AA brings in someone like Gavin Floyd, Scott Baker, Jeff Niemann on the cheap for the 5th spot if he could. Floyd would be my target since he's proven he can be a capable mid-rotation guy. He'd be great value.
  2. To fill a rotation spot in Buffalo, I'd take a shot on him.
  3. Isn't Peralta now looking for a deal close to $75 million? Updated on MLB trade rumours. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/11/jhonny-peralta-seeking-56-75mm.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MlbTradeRumors+%28MLB+Trade+Rumors%29
  4. I think if the Cards were to trade OT, it would be in a package for Tulo, not a pitcher like Price. So you never know. At least the offseason is now heating up!
  5. I like this deal for the Cards. Bourjos is very underrated and I think he's the type of player that can thrive in St. Louis.
  6. At least the Argos have played meaningful games at the Rogers Centre over the past two years lol.
  7. The CFL isn't filth.
  8. I like it for Detroit, since they rid themselves of the Fielder contract and now can move Miguel Cabrera back to first base where he belongs. Also, I'm assuming now Detroit will try and move Castellanos back to third base and look for an outfielder via free agency. Also, they now could possibly extend Scherzer. As for Texas, I think Fielder should hit well in that ballpark and could put up monster numbers over the next 3-4 years. After that, he'll be a disaster. Now Profar gets a clear path to play at second base.
  9. Solid signing for the Tribe. I don't think he'll be worth close to 4 WAR again like in 2012, though he'll still provide excellent value on this deal. Very nice signing.
  10. Great deal by the Padres. They also get a draft pick as well if they give him a QO next fall.
  11. I could see the Pirates signing Johnson if AJ decides to retire. He'd be a nice fit there as well.
  12. San Francisco would be a great place for him. Pitching in the NL West, in that spacious park. The Giants rotation could be one of the best next season with Cain, Bumgarner, Lincecum, Hudson and Johnson. Just filthy.
  13. His numbers against LHP and RHP have been pretty similar throughout his career. Still the Jays haven't had a power bat off the bench since Matt Stairs lol.
  14. Morse wouldn't be a bad right handed power bat off the bench who could spell Lind at 1B. Not sure if he crushes lefties like Gomes does - gotta check the stats.
  15. What a fantastic K/BB ratio. 89 K's vs. 88 BB's! 1.70 WHIP!
  16. Morse would be a nice platoon bat at 1B/LF and a bat with pop off the bench. Morales likely will want 2-3 years upwards of $30 million which I don't think he'd be worth.
  17. They will have a solid pitching staff, especially if Hudson stays healthy and gives them 180 innings. Cain Bumgarner Lincecum Hudson No. 5 starter They likely still will add another arm and some BP pieces. They need another bat (preferably a left fielder) and I think they definitely will give the Dodgers a run for their money again.
  18. If you're looking for writers, let me know. I used to write about baseball for the Varsity at UofT and had my own baseball blog on their site. Would love to start writing again.
  19. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/11/roy-oswalt-plans-to-pitch-in-2014.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MlbTradeRumors+%28MLB+Trade+Rumors%29 Roy Oswalt wants to sign a MLB deal for next season. Doubt he would come to Toronto, though I'm sure he'd be a good fit in Oakland. He's the next Bartolo Colon comeback story.
  20. I also hope the Rays don't steal away Ryan Hanigan next. I could just see it happening over the next couple of days.
  21. I would have liked both here as well, though I'm not that disappointed about the Jays missing out on them. Likely they both would have expected more $ from the Jays to sign here so you're likely looking at $50 million upwards locked up in two players 35 and older.
  22. It's not a bargain, though Hudson can still be a solid mid-rotation guy if healthy, especially in that ballpark. I didn't think he'd get $23 million over two years, though we're talking Brian Sabean here. San Francisco is a good place for him though. With the Lincecum signing and now the Hudson signing by the Giants, it will be interesting to see what someone like Colon or Haren now get on the open market. The price for starting pitching via free agency seems like it's going to be high this offseason. Thank you Mr. Sabean.
  23. Also, hopefully Matt Carpenter falls off the face of the earth as well…both of those guys were incredible last season.
  24. I think something more along the lines of his 2012 season with a better .OBP is what I'm projecting.
  25. It's still way too early in the offseason to be resorting to these types of threads. Players like Dan Johnson get signed to minor league contracts all the time, especially early in November like this. Has one of the other 29 teams gone out and made a big splash yet? No. Unless you consider the Phillies signing Marlon Byrd one. If this was in January and the Jays made zero moves at all, then I could understand your anger. Though right now in the middle of November, c'mon lol!
