  2. Weren't they considering non-tendering him? Don't think he would cost that much at all.
  3. A healthy Ken Griffey Jr in his prime or Barry Bonds!
  4. JPA is dreamy. Who wouldn't want his good looks on your team?
  5. Well if they decide to platoon Goins and Maicer at second base, then having Carroll as insurance in the minors is fine. Still, not the ideal plan heading into the season with Goins/Maicer as the starting second basemen. Danny Espinosa is available and probably can be had for 20 cents on the dollar. They should go after him.
  6. Quite sad. This has probably been the first thing on AA's agenda this offseason: how to replace Mark DeRosa!
  7. Obviously. Don't expect him to post up 2 WAR or higher again. He's almost 40-years-old.
  8. With Maicer already here as a utility player/platoon at 2B, carrying Carroll would be awful roster management.
  9. Carroll was quite productive from 2010-2012 (2 WAR or higher). Still, Carroll should not be a target in the offseason, especially as a starting second baseman or as a utility player since the Jays already have Maicer. Carrying Goins, Carroll and Maicer all north of the border is just a complete waste and awful roster management. At least use that bench spot on a bat. I have no problem with Carroll on a minor league deal and he plays in Buffalo, though not on a MLB deal.
  10. Ah AA loves just wasting roster spots on aging players who can't hit. Omar Visquel 2.0!
  11. Awesome deal for the Royals. Aoki would have been a nice fit in Toronto at that price.
  12. Why don't the Jays just ask for Gerrit Cole while were at it? I doubt guys like Polanco, Meadows or Hanson would be moved for Lind. Neil Walker would be an interesting name.
  13. Career WAR: Kratz: 1.8 JPA: 0.9 And I thought JPA was a Top Ten catcher?
  14. Yankees sign Ellsbury; Jays trade for Kratz! We love it!
  15. I like this signing since Ellsbury is an elite player and one of the best CF's in baseball. All his injuries have been freak injuries more than anything. Also, I'd rather sign Ellsbury at this contract if I'm the Yankees rather than give Cano $250 million over 10 years - Ellsbury likely provides similar value at a cheaper cost and the Yankees don't lose a beat. It'll be tough to find the gaps with Ellsbury and Gardiner manning the outfield in New York.
  16. Which beers are on the menu haha?
  17. Yeah thought he'd get something similar to Ruiz or more. If its $21 million, that's a bargain.
  18. Nice deal for the Marlins. Now that leaves JPA only on the market for catchers. Slim pickings now haha.
  19. Awful numbers on the road. He's been a frustrating player - has so much talent and he hasn't been able to put it all together.
  20. Great move for the Astros. I actually would have liked the Jays to target Fowler if they decided to trade Rasmus in a deal for Homer Bailey. Great move for the Astros!
  21. If I recall, Rodney and Farnsworth weren't making the same money as Heath Bell I could see Bell rejuvenate his career with the Rays. He had solid peripherals last season with Arizona (72 K's vs 16 BB's). His home run rate last season is a cause for concern though; he always has pitched in big parks (San Diego and Miami), so hopefully with him moving to the AL East, batters tee off of him!
