  1. Downstairs in the Longo's at Maple Leafs Square. Best place to go grab a couple of beers and some food before any game. Can't beat the value.
  2. We'll go to Corks before the game on Saturday and/or afterwards. Great beer and food for great prices!
  3. Erik Bedard would be much better.
  4. He's a Canadian kid, give him some slack. I bet Hill does get 10 starts, which would be really sad.
  5. Also should add the Fantasy Challenge Dynasty League, since many members from this board are in it.
  6. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/texas-rangers-catcher-geovany-soto-to-undergo-right-knee-surgery-out-10-12-weeks?ymd=20140324&content_id=70007540&vkey=news_mlb Soto out for 10-12 weeks. Looks like JPA will be the starter in Texas now - ouch.
  7. They have horrible beer selection at the RC. I'm shocked they don't have any local Ontario stuff like Mill St, Beau's, Muskoka, Flying Monkey's etc. The only good beer they have now is this German beer and Sapporo. I only have one when I go to the games. People that buy 3-4 beers per game are nuts to spend $40 when you can buy a whole case for less lol.

  9. I said I would take the Rangers moving forward as well; even with the Choo and Fielder contract. As for comparing both teams this season, I'd probably take the Jays lineup over the Rangers. Pitching wise, the Rangers have question marks since Holland is injured, though I'd still obviously take a rotation of Darvish, Perez and whoever else they have.
  10. I would probably take the Jays lineup right now over the current Rangers lineup. Profar missing 10-12 weeks really hurts and could be a huge loss. Reyes, Cabrera, Bautista, EE, Rasmus, Lawrie, Lind, Navarro, Goins vs. Choo, Andrus, Beltre, Fielder, Rios, Moreland, Martin, Soto, Rosales As for pitching, obviously the Rangers have a younger and more talented pitching staff. Darvish is a beast, Holland when healthy is fantastic, Martin Perez, Ogando, Harrison, Robbie Ross, etc. Currently, the Rangers rotation does have its question marks after Darvish & Perez. They have Joe Saunders and Tommy Hanson listed in their rotation, and Scheppers as the No. 2 guy. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Rangers get lucky with a reclamation project they just signed like Tommy Hanson, but I don't expect much from him. As for the BP, I'd say the Jays and Rangers are both a wash. Long term, I still prefer the Rangers with Darvish, Holland, and Perez locked up into their rotation and guys like Profar, Andrus at the MLB level and Gallo, Luke Jackson, Odor, and Alfaro coming up through the system. However, they will have two awful contracts in the next 2-3 years that will be immovable in Choo and Fielder, who likely will impact their payroll. Beltre is getting older, Rios is gone obviously when he's a FA, Martin isn't anything special in CF, and they don't have a great catcher that could bridge them to Alfaro. The Jays will have a bunch of contracts off the books after 2015/2016 with Dickey, EE, Bautista, and MB. They still have Reyes locked up through 2017, and Lawrie will still be under control. Pitching wise, you expect Hutch, Stroman and Sanchez up with the big club, unless they are traded and hopefully the Jays strike with someone like Nay, Osuna, Norris, Davis etc.
  11. Reported the idiot who made the Kevin Frandsen thread.
  12. I'm sure the Rangers sign Stephen Drew or go after Danny Espinosa through trade.
  13. Who takes priority - Leafs or baseball?
  14. It's depressing. Would have loved to seen what Profar could do with everyday AB's this season. Its been an awful week in baseball.
  15. f*** Profar out that long sucks. Especially for my DDL team. Good thing I never traded Kendrick.
  16. Another bold prediction: Tim Collins records his first MLB save in 2014 and the following day the Hurl runs onto the Rogers Centre field.
  17. Yeah, I just don't see the Jays trading for someone like Shark since it likely would have already happened. I see the Jays signing a guy for cheap like Bedard hoping they catch lightning in a bottle. I actually would love Bedard as the No. 5 starter - he could provide decent value and is better than rolling with Happ, Rogers, Redmond etc.
  18. Blue Jays predictions: - RA Dickey throws a perfect game - Drew Hutchison has the second best WAR in the Jays rotation - Brandon Morrow doesn't make more than 15 starts - Marcus Stroman called up in May; Aaron Sanchez called up in July/beginning of August - Blue Jays trade for Asdrubal Cabrera to play 2B, since Ryan Goins is hitting below .200 - Colby Rasmus hits 30 HR's and posts a 6 WAR - Brett Lawrie hits 50 doubles - Dioner Navarro loses his job in June, and the Jays claim John Buck off waivers from the Mariners - Jose Reyes steals 50 bases - Jose Bautista finishes in top 5 for AL MVP - Blue Jays sign Erik Bedard after he is released by the Rays - Spanky's team wins the DDL championship - Gibbers becomes nicer towards casual baseball fans and trades all his young players for veterans in their 30's to make a push at the DDL championship.
  19. - Chris Davis fails to reach the 40 HR and 100 RBI plateau and has an OPS below .900 - Max Scherzer has an ERA close to 4 - The White Sox are in playoff contention for the entire season (win the division?) - Eric Hosmer hits 35 HR's and finishes in the Top 5 for AL MVP - Cleveland trades Asdrubal Cabrera to either the Mets or Jays in May and call up Francisco Lindor to play SS - Danny Salazar throws a no-hitter - Grady Sizemore is AL Comeback player of the year - Michael Pineda has the second best WAR on the Yankees staff. - Scott Kazmir records 200 K's in Oakland - Robinson Cano hits less then 25 HR's and drives in less than 100 RBI's and has an OPS below .900 - Julio Teheran wins the NL Cy Young - Jose Fernandez struggles in his sophomore season - only accumulates 2.5 WAR. - Cubs trade Shark to Atlanta Braves - Mike Trout finally wins the AL MVP - hits 50 HR's and steals 50 bases - Andrew Cashner starts the ASG for the NL squad - Chris Sale wins the AL Cy Young award
  20. Ruggiano was the answer! I'd like Mayberry or Tabata however as well if they could be had for JA Happ.
  21. He has a career 105 wRC+ against lefties. Nothing special obviously. Sierra is only project for like 84 wRC+ anyways.
  22. Yeah, I'd be interested to know. I'm not campaigning for the Jays to go out and sign Frenchy lol though I just quickly looked at his career splits and he has a career .800 OPS against lefties.
  23. I actually wouldn't mind Frenchy on the bench and platoon bat with Lind. His slash line against lefties for his career isn't bad .285/.335/.465 I'd prefer Frenchy over Sierra that's for sure. But yeah, not that crazy about him. Would have rather had Ruggiano - missed opportunity.
  24. I'm sure he'll sign on somewhere to play in Triple A. But yes, his days of being an everyday player at the MLB level are over, and you could have argued that they were over a couple of years ago.
