  1. Michael Young now is awful.
  2. We haven't heard any input from BTS, who is a die hard Rays fan and has posters and statues of Andrew Friedman in his bedroom lol.
  3. And what makes you think Infante will hold his own over the next 4 years at the age of 32?
  4. At the price he signed for, agreed! At 4 years/$40 + million like how some posters were suggesting, I wouldn't have felt comfortable.
  5. I think we all know Mike Trout would get a 10-year deal worth $300 million if he was a FA lol. But yeah, it's not right that another MLB team tampers another players value like that.
  6. I guess since Espinosa sucked last season because of injuries, his 2011 and 2012 season don't count, despite him being only 26 years old. Though an aging Omar Infante who had a super high BABIP, can't take a walk (and we're talking BB% JPA bad) and who isn't anything special defensively and offensively is definitely worth $40 + million!
  7. How do we know AA never targeted Infante?
  8. Before his injury, he was a rising young talent. There is value to be had with him. He posted a 3.2 WAR and 3.4 WAR in 2011 and 2012 respectively. He's young, has pop, speed and is sound defensively. Having hit 8th or 9th in the Jays lineup doesn't hurt the offense at all. Everyone on here is fapping for Dustin Ackley and most posters on here were praising Omar Infante and how the Jays should sign him at $40 + million! Give me a healthy Espinosa (2011 & 2012) anytime over Omar Infante.
  9. Espinosa had a 3.2 WAR in 2011 and 3.4 WAR in 2012. In my opinion, he'd be a better option than Infante.
  10. There was no way Infante was getting 4/$40 million. I just couldn't see a team dishing that out for him. Scutaro's deal signed a couple years ago with the Giants was the benchmark for Infante in my opinion.
  11. Espinosa in 2011 and 2012 averaged higher than 3 WAR. He'd be the best fit here in my opinion, especially based on the cost to acquire him.
  12. 4 years at $30 million (if true) is a great signing.
  13. It's just so irrational signing middle relievers to 3 year deals.
  14. I know its not rational. When a No. 5 starter like Jason Vargas get's a 4 year deal worth $32 million, its quite irrational.
  15. Infante's career BB% = 5.4 J.P. Arencibia's career BB% =5.3
  16. Then why hasn't a team already locked him up already if that's such a great deal? Don't get me wrong, I like Infante, though he's a second tier second baseman, and just the idea of the Jays paying him $12 million has me cringe. I use Scutaro's contract as a benchmark. I'd go 3/$24 on Infante, or slightly more considering that he's younger and all, though we're talking about a player whose BABIP was crazy high this past season, doesn't hit for power, turning 32, is nothing special defensively and who has a worse BB% than J.P. Arencibia over the past 3 seasons! I just don't feel comfortable giving him a 4 year deal worth $40 + million, which to me is quite excessive considering the type of player he is.
  17. So who cares what Steamers think? Steamers had Salty projected at 3 WAR and everyone on here was saying he was crap. Infante isn't even projected for the same WAR and everyone on here is raving on how signing him to $10 AAV over 4 years is such a bargain.
  18. Best poster - DrDinger Funniest poster - Georgia Peach Nicest poster - Angrioter Best troll - Spanky Comeback poster - Georgia Peach Best new poster - TBA Best infrequent poster(s) - Terminator Best thread - TBA
  19. Was he even a choice in the contest lol?
  20. I think 3/$24 million is fair for him. I wouldn't go any higher for the type of player he is.
  21. For Infante? $15 million per season? Are you nuts?
  22. Infante is not a 3 WAR player and he likely won't ever be one again. His BABIP was crazy high and he hardly get's on-base. He isn't anything special and he's definitely not a player I'd dish a 4 year contract out too.
  23. Just trade for Danny Espinosa already. Would cost nothing in a trade and won't make much through ARB.
  24. Infante really hasn't been anything special and is now 32.
  25. Brett Gardner is an elite player. He would have been a great fit as their CF.
