  1. I think Bautista max gets a 3-4 year deal. It would be crazy to see him get 5 years somewhere though anything is possible.
  2. Yeah just having this discussion with someone. I think Bautista makes more sense based on what he has meant to the organization since 2010 and since Bautista likely will age better and he can at least play RF whereas EE is limited to 1B and DH. As well, Bautista might not cost as much as EE in terms of years since Bautista will be 36 at the start of 2017 where EE will be 34.
  3. With EE and Bautista both becoming free agents after 2016, what type of contract do you see them both getting on the free agent market? Since the Jays have just traded for Tulo, one of the long term benefits is that if both Bautista and EE are not retained, then at least the Jays still have a solid offensive core of Donaldson, Tulo and Martin, along with Travis. As well, who do you think the Jays have a better shot of bringing back (EE or Bautista) and who would you prefer if you could only choose one? Do you think one could possibly get an extension this offseason?
  4. I'd target a guy like Seth Smith to platoon in LF with someone. The Jays need some left handed bats to balance the lineup.
  5. Better Zobrist going to KC over the Yankees at least. Wonder what the Royals gave up...
  6. Since this lineup is heavily right handed, you hope this means Smoak is in the lineup more going forward.
  7. Tulo likely will DH 1-2 times per week, day after night game.
  8. Interesting that the Cards were in on Tulo. I wonder what they were offering?
  9. No team was signing HanRam to play SS though.
  10. Same, I don't think he'll have to move off the position for a couple of years at least.
  11. I'm sure the Yankees would bid crazy on him if he was a FA this offseason.
  12. Having Tulo DH once or twice a week will be huge. As well, Tulo has said in the past that he understand he might have to move off of shortstop someday, so having him lets say make that transition to 1B, LF or DH down the road will definitely be a lot easier than lets say telling Reyes he needs to move off to a different position. Plus, Tulo's bat will play anywhere.
  13. His contract is not that bad considering the money being thrown around these days on top FA bats. As a FA lets say this offseason, what do you think Tulo would get?
  14. Tulo posted a 5.3 WAR in only 91 games last season.
  15. I would as well though I'm sure they are much more expensive. If they can get Kennedy for like nothing, he's an upgrade over FD at the back of the rotation.
  16. Morosi said the Jays are talking to the Padres about Kennedy.
  17. Jon Morosi confirmed Hoffman is heading to Colorado
  18. Not totally disappointed, though I would have loved to have seen the Jays hold onto to Hoffman and use him in a deal to land Carrasco.
  19. Bob Elliot tweeting some stuff I don't want to hear!
  20. I'd like to read the Yankees board. Going to check now.
  21. This sounds like something a caller would say on Mike Wilner's show.
