  1. I like Josh Tomlin a lot. Same with Jesse Chavez. Worley is an interesting guy as well. I'd have no problem with the Jays targeting one of those guys as the No. 5 starter. They could provide some great value.
  2. Nate Karns had a solid year.
  3. Adam Warren was pretty decent as a starter this season. Yankees though probably keep him in the pen. Other guys are Alex Colome, Carlos Frias, Chris Bassitt. Charlie Morton could be an interesting target. Still under control for 2016 + an option and could likely be dangled by the Pirates for a particular need. He's more of a groundball pitcher obviously so not the same arsenal as Estrada.
  4. Velocity dropped big time and walk rates were going up. They said after his surgery that he'll have improved velocity so that will be interesting. He was one of favourite pitchers to watch in 2008 and 2009. Its so unfortunate that his career has taken such a downturn the way it has.
  5. Who could be the next Estrada next year?
  6. Oh wow, that would be awesome to see the Jays at Coors Field. Depending on when they are in town and if I could align it with a D'Backs game and Mariners game as well. Also, need the Canadian dollar to improve because its awful to travel now down to the States.
  7. Yeah for the Saturday night game.
  8. If I ever hit up a Rockies game, I'll give you a shout. Did a west coast trip in California this past August and hit up all the ballparks. Next trip I'd like to do in the next couple of years would be Colorado, Arizona, and the Northwest like Oregon and Seattle.
  9. Which starter do you think the Jays could sign on a 1 year deal worth $12 million this offseason? Someone comparable to Dickey (in terms of performance) likely will require a multiyear deal. The only guys I could think of are some of the vets out there like Colon or Lackey. Colon probably would sign a 1 year deal with an option. I think Lackey gets a 3 year deal from someone worth $40M.
  10. Grant, want to join the DDL and LOD?
  11. Estrada pitched in the NL before coming to the Blue Jays...
  12. After being traded from San Diego, Jake Peavy wasn't that bad when he pitched with Chicago or Boston. Injuries were his only problem.
  13. AJ Burnett
  14. He'll be a first base coach this time next year...
  15. True, though he's 33 and hasn't been a closer (I know that it doesn't mean anything on how valuable he is, though it means something on the free agent market). I could see him getting around $7-8 million at most. A 3 year deal worth $22 million is what I think he ends up getting.
  16. Brett Anderson 5.79 K/9 Mike Leake 5.58 K/9 I'd rather take the bulk innings Leake provides over Brett Anderson.
  17. Good comp. I'd be comfortable giving O'Day that type of deal.
  18. Latos 3.69 xFIP this season. I'd take a chance on him.
  19. Seriously? No way I'd pay $10M AAV to an aging reliever.
  20. I think AA will lean on the side of caution when it comes to pitchers made of glass. He's taken chances on guys like Brandon Morrow and Josh Johnson before. Doubt AA would want to give Brett Anderson anything more than 2 years. I'd be quite hesitant with giving him anything more than that due to his injury history.
  21. We've seen some left-handed starters pitch well into their mid-late 30's. Randy Johnson was still a beast into his late 30's. However, then there is CC Sabathia who basically just imploded at age 32. Regardless, signing Price or any arm for that matter that takes a pitcher into their mid-30's is risky.
  22. Most likely scenario probably. Osuna probably would be on an innings limit as a starter and to be honest I think Sanchez is a better bet to stay in the pen because he was pretty bad out of the rotation. Still signing an elite reliever like O'Day would make a huge difference.
  23. I'm shocked nobody has listed some of the bullpen arms available. It wouldn't shock me to see AA try to shorten the games with a lights out bullpen, after watching what Kansas City has been able to accomplish the past two seasons. The bullpen is up in the air for 2016. Will Osuna again be the closer? Will Sanchez be a starter? Lowe is a FA. Loup can't be relied on. Really, Cecil and Hendricks are the only guys who have guaranteed roles next season. Darren O'Day is a FA and would be a perfect late inning reliever for this club. I know Jose and him had some beefs in the past, which could be a roadblock in signing him. Worth 1.8 WAR and had a 11.80 K/9 last season.
  24. lol What about Hutch?
  25. Isn't Burnett retiring?
