  1. Expect to be banned in the next hour.
  2. I was going to say, his numbers this season in a part time role were pretty good. Just not worth $16 million for a 4th outfielder lol.
  3. Crazy how BJ Upton just fell off the face of the earth.
  4. Yeah not comfortable if he has a QO attached. Unless the Jays sign a higher profiled free agent as well, not worth giving up a comp pick to sign Kennedy.
  5. I prefer Ian Kennedy as well over Happ. Younger and durable arm that you know should give you more innings. He'd fit in nicely as a No. 3 starter in the Jays rotation.

Aren't you a True Red Wings fan?
  8. I'll admit that I'm a casual hockey fan as well.

Two tough road wins back to back against good teams in Dallas and OKC!
  10. Next years version of Marco Estrada? I'd sign Norris for 1/5 and have him start as a long man like they did with Estrada this past season. I'm sure he'd end up making around 25 starts.
  11. Wouldn't be shocked to see Zobrist get more.
  12. I said this yesterday. Josh Thole hasn't produced a positive WAR season in his three years with the Blue Jays. He's a strain on the 25 man roster.
  13. Yeah, there are so many middle tier starting pitchers available via free agency, so do you think that could lower prices/years on some of those arms? Price, Greinke and probably Cueto will get paid obviously, and probably some of the other pitchers in the next tier below if they sign quick. Though I'm sure you might be able to nab some solid arms on 1 year contracts (similar to how Ervin Santana 2 years ago signed late with the Braves).
  14. Don't understand why you would sign a backup MIF to a 3 year deal when you can find similar guys easily like that each offseason.
  15. What type of contract do you think Scott Kazmir will get?
  16. I don't think Tulo gets traded. When Bautista or EE leave after 2016, his bat in the middle of the lineup will even be more important.
  17. Yeah I think Smyly has a higher ceiling and better stuff, though the chances of him reaching it I think are slim. I don't think he'll be a consistent 200 + inning workhorse like Quintana. I think a similar career comp for Smyly could be Ted Lilly. Nothing more than a solid mid-rotation starter.
  18. Yeah I love Smyly's skillset as well, though I don't think he'll ever reach the high ceiling that me or others have him pegged at. Doesn't seem durable and injuries could play a role down the road. I'm a huge fan of Quintana (extremely underrated in baseball) and he's a workhorse on a fantastic contract like you said.
  19. I've just never agreed with how the Jays weakened their 25 man roster in the past by rostering Josh Thole as Dickey's personal catcher, especially when you're not getting elite pitching results. Otherwise, I'm fine with Dickey. He's not the same pitcher who won the Cy Young in 2012 and I think most fans still expect those type of results in order to feel satisfied with him. I'm fully happy with Dickey giving the Blue Jays 200 + solid innings, low 3/high 4 ERA and around 2 WAR. He'll have his ups and downs, and thats expected with a knuckleballer.
  20. In a salary dynasty league, who do you like better: Drew Smyly or Jose Quintana?

I hope the Raps don't resign DeRozan to an extension, especially after handing out this recent extension to Ross.

Doubt the Raps were going to get KD anyways, though I agree there is no point in tying up a lot of salary cap on role players when those types of guys can easily be attained every year.

Pretty disappointed about the Ross extension at 3 years, $33 million. Wouldn't the Raptors be able to sign him to that same type of deal next summer even if he had a solid season off the bench? Unless Ross completely breaks out and becomes a 20 PPG player.
  24. Agreed. I love Heyward, though + $200 million over a long term contract is a lot for someone who hasn't topped 15 HR's in the past three seasons, no matter how good he has been defensively. With age, his defense will decline and if he isn't hitting like a top bat, the latter parts of the deal could be a mess. Still he'll be an interesting FA and obviously the potential is huge if he could turn into the offensive monster many people projected him to be when he came up to the Bigs.
  25. Crazy potential, though he hasn't proved to be that type of force offensively on a consistent basis. He's young and an excellent defender, so he'll get a very lucrative contract, though I would feel hesitant to hand a $200 million deal over to an outfielder who hasn't even topped 15 HR's the past two seasons. With age, his defense will decline and if he isn't an offensive force, then it could turn into a mess of a contract long term.
