  1. Can my name be put on the waitlist if someone ever leaves?
  2. It's funny when Rays pitching prospects that were coming up a couple of years ago e.g. Matt Moore, Jeremy Hellickson etc. had so much hype surrounding them, even during their first season. They never became anything special.
  3. Kershaw (opt out), Price (opt out), Harvey, Fernandez, Keuchel could all be the FA arms on the market possibly.
  4. Who are some of the pitchers of that free agent class?
  5. The Yankees must think Starlin Castro is really good if he's still their starting second baseman in 2019.
  6. Matt Moore did go 17-4 in 2013.
  7. Yeah with the SP options out there this offseason and the lack of Jays pitching depth in the higher minors, it wouldn't shock me to see Atkins & Shapiro go the safe route as we've seen them so far in their tenure. Rather have something then be left with nothing next spring.
  8. I'm not a huge fan of Dickey and to be honest would hate to see him back with the Jays, though I'd have no problem with it and like others mentioned it would be a safe move. Those 200 innings are valuable. Sure it's frustrating watching him every 5th day because you have no idea what you'll get, but he's capable of putting together good stretches of starts as we've seen in years past. Another 1 year/$10 million contract for 2017 wouldn't get me excited though at the same time from a baseball perspective, it would be nice insurance to have considering the Jays are familiar with Dickey and wouldn't require a multi-year commitment. As a No. 5 starter, you could do worse.
  9. Yeah you would think they'd bring on someone like Campbell or even Mike Wilner for the times Buck Martinez is away.
  10. You can probably find a similar or better platoon 1B cheaper in the offseason and I'm certainly sure without a two-year commitment attached.
  11. 6IP, 4H, 1ER, 0BB, 9K performance vs. San Francisco last night. Yeah he hasn't been that good this season like in previous seasons, I've acknowledged that. Though considering his previous success and what the acquisition cost it would take to acquire him, having him around as a 5th starter isn't that bad if the Blue Jays can't go after their plan A, plan B, etc.
  12. He has a chance at a World Series ring with the other 9 teams holding down a playoff spot, so what makes Toronto any different?
  13. I understand that though who else do you suggest to go after at a reasonable price? Rich Hill would be nice, but he's going to cost a lot and is probably the most sought after rental arm out there. Jeremy Hellickson? Outside of just being an innings eater, he's not that good. Sonny Gray? I doubt the A's would move him now with his value this low. Even if they do, he'll still cost a pretty penny likely. Julio Teheran? He'll cost more than he is worth (4.10 xFIP) due to his age, controllability and the season he is having. Plus I wouldn't want him pitching in the AL East.
  14. As a back end of the rotation starter, he's not that bad. 2.3 WAR in each of the past two seasons. Wouldn't probably cost that much. Tyson Ross would even be a good target if he comes off the DL.
  15. How about Andrew Cashner?
  16. Is the message board on the Blue Jays official site still going?
  17. Yeah, plus the time it would take to make that transition to the rotation given the Jays window to contend, it wouldn't make sense.
  18. You think the Blue Jays ever experiment with Osuna as a starter or just keep him in the bullpen?
  19. Looking to make some moves before the trade deadline. Preferably would like to add another top of the rotation arm if possible, though really open to anything. Could dangle Freddie Freeman for the right arm, or package Dexter Fowler + other arms. As well, wouldn't mind doing a challenge trade with Chris Tillman for a bat with similar value/upside/question marks.
  20. They still have bobbleheads left at Gate 5/6. Several boxes and no lineups go get in.
  21. I'm lined up for Gate5 & 6. Waiting in front of the CN Tower/Ripleys entrance and got here at 9:30.
  22. What's the best gate to lineup at? Gate5 or 6?
  23. Should they retire Johnny Mac's number and put him on the level of excellence?
