  1. As well, could have made the case for Longoria if he played in 150-160 games that season, especially with Tampa making the postseason for the first time. In 122 games, he posted a 5.6 WAR.
  2. Youkilis and Sizemore were pretty good in 08. Not Trout or JD level obviously.
  3. Dustin Pedroia won the AL MVP back in 2008, and Jose Altuve is by far having a better season this year.
  4. It's appalling that the best hitter of all time isn't even in the HOF.
  5. I'm not a greed driven douchebag. I'm just using common sense and rational thinking. I'd like to see you walk away from lets say $2000 from any job/contract (which is pocket change when we're talking about $21 million). I'm sure you wouldn't even think twice about walking away.
  6. Wouldn't count out Ortiz. We know how the voters will react to it being his last season and stuff, I'm sure he'll get a good chunk of votes. Though I think it's between Donaldson, and Altuve. If the Astros don't make the postseason, that will be taken into consideration. Trout should be in the conversation as well, though only with 21 HR's and playing on a losing team, the voters won't give him much acknowledgement.
  7. Yankees really aren't playing for anything this season, and it's not like A-Rod was taking AB's away from anyone. Start him 2-3 times a week at DH, and see if he reaches that 700 HR Milestone. Yankees could have made money from him chasing that milestone, in terms of ticket sales, merchandise etc.
  8. I thought Miami would have taken a chance on him as a pinch hitter, backup 1B since he's from that area, and would be close to that milestone of 700 home runs. Seemed like a good fit.
  9. Even if you are worth $325 million +, you wouldn't be stupid enough to throw out $21 million. Doesn't matter how rich you are. You are the one who seems stupid.
  10. Spanky wants proof that Matt is real.
  11. I agree Todd. A 6 Man rotation means less of Dickey.
  12. In honour of Spanky. Lets Go Blue Jays CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP cf
  13. Free spanky!!!!
  14. Kind of figured this would be the course for 2-3 weeks.
  15. I like TCA's end of it more mainly because of Carrasco and the fact that he bought low on a Top 10-20 asset. It all really comes down to if McCutchen's decline as a Top 10-20 asset is for real and if Rendon finally works his way back into becoming a fantasy stud. Fielder is a non-asset right now, Adam Jones isn't as valuable in this league as in the standard 5x5 leagues, Pedroia is an aging asset though still could provide solid value from 2B, Santana has quietly put together a solid season and he's definitely more valuable in a league that has .OBP as a scoring category. Though still not sure I'd be comfortable in trading an ace like Carrasco and selling low on Cutch on players like Santana, Jones, and Rendon. TCA got the two best players in this deal with Cutch and Carrasco.
  16. Wouldn't a simple phone call suffice?
  17. Spanky's the hero the BJMB deserves, but not the one it needs right now. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.
  18. Altuve is pretty good. He's not just a slap hitting middle infielder - the guy is hitting for power, stealing bases, and has a great glove. He could do it all.
  19. Mazara is pretty darn good at his age. Imagine him in the next couple of years...
  20. Well thats the thing as well. If you're making a push for the postseason or have a ton of money invested in a certain player or pitcher, owners wouldn't want their star players getting injured during the Olympics.
  21. Thing is it would be tough to do a 1-2 week break in the middle of August, which would likely push the regular season into the middle of October and the World Series until the middle of November. If the All-Star Break coincided with the Olympic break, then sure wouldn't be that bad, though that won't happen.
  22. 6 man rotation for the time being I'm assuming?
  23. I'm guessing with the games being in Japan was a big reason to add baseball again to the Olympics. Not sure you'll see MLB players go over, maybe some minor leaguers I'd assume. Should be fun though.
