  1. If Rick Porcello wins 23-24 games, wouldn't shock me to see him getting a majority of Cy Young votes.
  2. I guess Happ is no longer in the Cy Young conversation.
  3. It's a business. The days of players like Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, etc. staying with the same organization their entire career is pretty rare these days. I'm shocked the Twins haven't tried to unload Mauer as well, though he has very little trade value as a first baseman/DH. I could see him retiring after 2018.
  4. Yeah you figure Ryan Braun will be traded eventually by the Brewers. This offseason probably would be the perfect time with a weak FA market. 4 years/$76 million isn't all that bad considering what a free agent bat like EE will get.
  5. I was offered this in one of the 20 team dynasty leagues I'm in on ESPN. I trade: J.T. Realmuto and Jeremy Jeffress I receive: Eric Hosmer & Tony Barnette Currently my 1B options are Chris Carter, Travis Shaw, and Profar has 1B eligibility as well. Have Ortiz and Morales as well, though they only have UTL. As for my catchers, I have Willson Contreras and Tyler Flowers, so its not like Realmuto was my starter in the first place.
  6. I'd rather the Jays resign Jose Bautista to something like (2/36 or 2/40) with a club option, over handing a 5 year deal to EE at close to $25 million AAV or even more.
  7. They are very entertaining and both work real well together. They might not be the most knowledgable, though they both engage in interesting discussion and debate. They always have great guests on the show, which is a plus. As well, they are quite funny and definitely have attracted a younger following, whereas PTS hasn't really done that over the years. I used to watch/listen to PTS a lot when Brunt was a co-host, though now I'll watch Tim & Sid before PTS based on the reasons above.
  8. The Sportsnet radio lineup is pretty boring. Not a fan of Brady & Walker and Jeff Blair is the most boring person to listen. As much I enjoyed listening to PTS back in the day, it really has been heading downwards in terms of missing some key co-hosts like Stephen Brunt & John Shannon which made for interesting dialogue and conversations. Mike Zeisberger and Damien Cox are pretty bad. As well, when someone like Jeff Blair hosts the show, it's 3 hours of torture.
  9. Didn't Montreal own the rights to sign him if they wanted? I remember hearing that. Not sure he'd have success in the CFL anyways, which is more of a passing league to begin with.
  10. He'd be a nice addition to your OF in the LOD.
  11. Check on AirBNB as I'm sure you'll be able to find something in your price range. I think TIFF is going on as well still, so thats why hotel prices are absurd. Plus many Boston fans will be making the trip up north of the border. Usually otherwise you can get a great hotel downtown in the $150-200 range, though you just picked the wrong weekend. If you stay outside of downtown, just make sure you're close to a subway line, because public transit is pretty scarce in the city. As for restaurants, can't go wrong with anything in the Trinity-Bellwoods area. It's about a $8-10 Uber ride from the Rogers Centre, and there are great restaurants and bars all over. Check out Bellwoods Brewery if you're into craft beer, plus they have a decent menu as well.
  12. Yes I got Shelby Miller back! Watch out!
  13. Guys OTB RW Stafford C/RW Coyle C Ribeirio C/LW Karlsson LW Beleskey D Wideman D Kromwall D Schultz D Klefbom D Murray G Darling G Raanta G Khudobin
  14. Also, since the league is a lot smaller now with 16 teams vs. 20.
  15. I owned Schebler for about a week in this league. I think I dropped him to pick up Nick Franklin. I'm using a ton of rosters spots right now for hitters who are sitting on my bench - guys like Cuthbert, Joseph, Morneau, Castro, Franklin. In a perfect world, trimming down to 2-3 would be ideal, though I'm sure if I drop one or two of those guys, one team will reap the benefits.
  16. Will backup goalies be as valuable this season as they were in the previous two seasons of this league?
  17. Sure, he wasn't that great of a player as he has been made out to be by the Canadian media or what casual Blue Jays fans think, though that home run was huge and won them the World Series in 93. It was one of the greatest moments in this franchise.
  18. Price tag on Happ was extremely high I recall (top 100 player in return). I tried going after guys like Paxton & Ventura as well, though that team was reluctant to move pitching for offense.
  19. I swear I had more RW's last season. Many guys like Tatar, O'Reilly and others lost eligibility.
  20. When is the deadline? Does anyone want to make any trades? I might actually be competitive this year since I finally now own a starting goalie!
  21. I think if he continues to play at a high level for the next 5 years, he'll get in.
  22. What do you think the cost would be on the Jays end?
  23. If I were a betting man, I'd probably bet against Sanchez being this good again next season. He does seem like a volatile arm in comparison to other top young arms that have come up.
  24. Yup I was contemplating it, though I mentioned that it was a deal I'd probably be more open to in the offseason. You actually only sent me one offer, not several.
