  1. Rolling with Gausman today, you hope the Jays can pull out a win or the Yankees lose and avoid the WC round. If not, I guess Gausman is available for a potential Game #3 of the WC. That would suck, though the Jays don't have any other choice but starting Gausman today in order to try for the division.
  2. MLB wants a Yankees/Red Sox series at some point. Obviously an ALDS or ALCS would be more profitable for them than a WC matchup. Regardless, tough to know in-game which seed each team gets with all the games starting at 3:05 PM today.
  3. I think teams who already locked in guaranteed spots for the Postseason are the teams who have 0 to play for. Teams like the Orioles and Rays have players who are definitely looking to pad their stats which will help in arbitration and free agency years. Wouldn't say they have nothing to play for.
  4. Rogers is pitching against the Yankees tonight at least. Good chance the Jays could take the division with a win tonight!
  5. Yeah I think they roll with a BP game as their No. 3 option in a series over Yesavage starting. They had success last night which was nice to see. Bassitt had been pitching better as of late. If you start him at home, don't have an issue with him. Prefer him over Scherzer and Berrios. We'll see what happens. Wonder what they tell Scherzer or if they still plan to keep him in the rotation but on a very short leash. Would roll with Gausman, Bieber and the BP for the first three games in the ALDS.
  6. For the WC and DS, three starters is fine. You probably need 4 for the CS and WS. Scherzer and Bassitt likely were going to be the guys who were going to contribute as a the #3 and #4 starters. Yesavage is now thrown into that role and who knows what you're going to get. As much as I love the upside, he'll only have 3 MLB starts entering the Postseason. Teams never seeing him before live in the batters box could be an advantage however, we'll see. Will be interesting to see how the Jays line up their rotation after Gausman and Bieber. Definitely see them going with a BP game like they did last night possibly in a Game 3 of the ALDS.
  7. Crazy how one month ago, this rotation looked amazing and had the problem of having too many good starters for only 5 spots. Now with Bassitt and Berrios on the IL, Scherzer s***ing the bed and Lauer back in a BP role now, this rotation is on thin ice. Looks like the Jays will have to ride on Bieber, Gausman and Yesavage the rest of the way.
  8. Detroit has a Postseason presale for their Tigers' insiders. Only selling WC and DS tickets however and nothing really good left, except real nosebleeds in the upper level or upper level seats in the outfield corners. Jays wouldn't face the Tigers anyways until the ALCS and heck they might not even make the Postseason lol. Ticket prices seem very reasonable for the ALDS however:
  9. Damnit I didn't have to drop Ty France in the LOD!
  10. I got a Platinum Card as well. I have heard of concierge service and have used them before (in 2016 to get tickets for the Dubai Open when I was there haha), but we can also call and use them to purchase Blue Jays tickets for us when they go on sale and pay face value?
  11. How about World Series? Also, from my previous experience sometimes it's best to wait to get tickets the day of off Stubhub (now SeatGeek lol). In 2015 and 2016, tickets were selling for less than the box office for some games (depending on time, score in the series etc.). My worry/concern is they schedule the Jays at an awful time like they have in the past during the week. Likely the games on Saturday and Sunday are at 1PM which is fine. Though some weekday games I remember were like at 2 or 3PM lol.
  12. I'm also keeping an eye out on Detroit Tigers Postseason Tickets for when they go on sale, or even Cleveland if they sneak in. Wouldn't be as expensive in comparison to Jays Postseason ticket prices and both are doable for a weekend road trip from Toronto. For games in Toronto, just going to try and get tickets for the World Series round.
  13. When do they go on sale to the general public?
  14. Jays just need to take it one game at a time. Win today and heading into the final week, they can still be 2 or 3 games ahead of the Yankees, which is a good spot to be in with only 6 games left.
  15. Batting average now is all of a sudden important when determining the best offence in baseball lol. On a serious note though, Jays have overall been a good offensive team this season. Tied for 4th with the Mariners in wRC+ with 112 and have the lowest K% rate out of all MLB teams. In terms of power, they're middle of the pack, which is still decent. Losing Bo, with Vladdy struggling and starting Lukes pretty much everyday isn't helping. This lineup relies on stringing together a bunch of base hits to score runs, which can be an issue when most of the lineup is struggling and there is no major power output. As well, against elite pitchers, it's tough to score runs that way as well. Gotta hope Bo comes back for the start of the Postseason, Vladdy starts to mash the ball more and Santander can maybe go on a stretch for a couple of weeks where the baseball looks like a beach ball at the plate.
  16. They need to ride Bieber and Gausman deep into their starts during the Postseason. If they're dealing, they should be pitching 7+ innings, no questions asked. I don't want to see Schneider getting fancy pulling them in the 5th or 6th innings and then relying on the BP to come in to get more than 9-10 outs. My only concern about their hitting is lack of power. Crushing a mistake off Crochet or another top SP or BP arm can make a big difference. Stringing together a bunch of hits for a big inning against one of those arms is less likely. Otherwise, Jays are going to have to rely on their pitching more than you think.
  17. Yeah right now would definitely roll with that rotation. I think if Yesavage makes 2 or 3 more starts and looks filthy like he did in his debut, he has to enter the conversation. In the ALDS, likely only need 3 starters anyways. In the CS, would need 4 most likely. Would even put Berrios ahead of Scherzer right now. Lauer I think you keep in the pen as a piggy back arm or extra lefty. Hasn't started a game since Aug 27th and even his numbers were slipping in August (5.30 ERA).
  18. Would be nice to get Santander back and if he could go on a power surge. One thing this lineup is missing and worries me heading into the Postseason. Runs are going to be tougher to come by against elite pitching with this offense. Not going to be easy stringing together a bunch of singles against arms like Fried, Woo, Crochet, Kirby, Brown, Skubal etc. Vladdy has had a real solid season to date, but seriously he should be around 30-35 HR at this point in the season, especially considering the money he's being paid. Offensively in the power department, he's having a 2006 Lyle Overbay type of season lol.
  19. Yankees lost and Detroit as well. One of the few times a 20-1 loss doesn't hurt you lol. Only concern is Scherzer and how he bounces back in his next start. Looking more like you have to roll with Bassitt as your No 3/4 in the Postseason and possibly Yesavage if Scherzer is burnt out.
  20. Pretty much every player and pitcher right now is playing through pain. The grind of 162 games!
  21. If the Jays go down 5 runs early, you'll get better odds!
