  1. Spanky thinks the Leafs are Stanley Cup contenders every September. He lives in his own dream world sometimes.
  2. Likely had more to do with the injuries in the rotation, Scherzer struggling heavily in September and the question marks in the bullpen at the time. But alright believe what you want to believe.
  3. Max can't do his usual cherry picking with only 4 starts under his belt 😅
  4. Most of the prominent posters on here were fellate all over Tampa for how many years and nobody said a peep? You can never count out the Yankees or Red Sox during the regular season. Any smart and rational baseball fan understands that. The Red Sox weren't even expected to make the Postseason at the beginning of the season and they did, even after trading Rafael Devers. As for the O's, they could be the most dangerous last place team heading into next season. If their management makes better decisions this offseason and their young core puts things altogether, I could see them flipping their W-L record easily. You can still be a huge Blue Jays fan and supporter while being rational at the same time.
  5. Does Grant even acknowledge the Red Sox exist?
  6. A lot of these fans forgot what it was like to win Postseason games. Can't fault them for the premature excitement.
  7. Yeah like Yesavage flat out dominated on Sunday against the Yankees, but some posters already deeming him an ace type pitch only after 4 starts is kind of premature. Did Marcus Stroman or Aaron Sanchez turn out to be aces? Didn't they both have some dominating starts/appearances in the Postseason?
  8. Add Walker Buehler, and Dustin May to that list, who both had some good seasons before getting hurt. Justin Wrobleski looks like he could be a solid arm. Bobby Miller might still have time to figure things out. Some BP arms like Alex Vesia, Jack Dreyer, Ben Casparius, all who were above 1 WAR this season. Other guys who were home grown (now I'm going back): Matt Kemp, Chad Billingsley, Jonathan Braxton, Russell Martin, Andre Ethier, Kenley Jansen,
  9. Hopefully IKF isn't starting. A must win for the Yankees with Fried on the mound. Would be so sweet if the Jays could steal this game and head to New York up 2-0!
  10. Ohtani looked great yesterday! 9 K's through 6 innings. He's just on another level. He's the definition of a star player. He's one of those players you specifically will pay anything for a ticket to see live whether hitting or pitching. Don't think there has been anyone like that since Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens.
  11. A Blue Jays/Mariners ALCS would be a lot of fun, but also would prefer the Tigers since it would be easier to see the Jays play a game on the road this Postseason.
  12. As for Hoffman being used, he hadn't pitch since September 26th, so the Jays probably wanted to get him an inning yesterday to keep him fresh. He did throw 17 pitches however yesterday and would have been better if he was around 10 or so pitches instead, but he can definitely still pitch today and there is an off-day tomorrow. Plus he had a clean inning (minus that HBP), so that should help with his confidence.
  13. Nice to see the Jays lineup put up 5+ runs. Gausman was dealing until the 6th inning. Defensively, the Jays made some real nice plays and that could be the difference in a tight game and short series. Still worried if this game was closer like 2-1 or 3-1 heading into the 9th inning. Glad the Jays put together a big inning when Weaver came in. Wonder if Hoffman is still the closer, or Schneider & the Jays roll with someone else when the game is on the line. Varland coming in and striking out Stanton with a 101 mph fastball was sick though with the bases loaded! Winning Game #1 was the most important. If the Jays could steal today's game, series is pretty much wrapped up!
  14. I'm outside on my patio enjoying the game! Got some Cracked Canoe, smoking a cigar! Can't do that at the Dome haha! Got some Asahi for the Dodgers game later!
  15. FYI, ticket prices seem pretty reasonable now. $200-$300 per seat for 100 level and 200 level seats in comparison to a couple days ago where they were $500-600.
  16. Well exactly in that situation which might pop up in a Game 5 😂
  17. Yeah true, but if you're asking Varland and Lauer to pitch multiple innings alongside with 40-50+ pitches, better to have two days of rest than one day. Front office will make that decision whether they use a BP game for #3 or #4.
  18. Yeah but in a Game #5, all hands on deck. Want to have the most options available to you in that game. Ideally, you wouldn't want to have to use Bieber lol but you never know. That's why I would even go with Varland/Lauer in Game #3 so they're available in a potential Game #5 out of the pen.
  19. Yeah need Varland/Lauer for Game 3 or 4. Don't want to use them too much this weekend. Maybe just an inning at most if you expect them to go 3+ innings in Game 3 or 4.
  20. Glad Scherzer isn't on the ALDS roster. Shocked about Bassitt but yeah in a short 5-game series you might not need him. Just gotta hope the Jays don't tax their pen too much this series. Gausman would start a potential Game #5. I would start Bieber tomorrow, so he could be available in a Game #5 in an emergency out of the pen.
  21. From the looks of it this morning, prices have dropped a bit for today's game. You can get really good 100 or 200 level infield seats for around $300-$400 on SeatGeek including fees.
  22. TD Comfort Club Sec 221A Row 2 and aisle seats for $454 each for today's game. That's a pretty damn good price.
