  1. Dave Bush is Boston's pitching coach, damn!
  2. Sergio Romo pitching in the 8th inning tonight. Taking bets!
  3. Every other poster on here could have told you that haha
  4. The way J. P. Feyereisen was pitching before he got hurt, possibly. Looks like he was for real. Rays found themselves a true keeper in the BP for sure!
  5. Manoah, Gausman, Berrios (when right) is a strong enough rotation. Stripling as a No. 4 if necessary. You don't need a No. 5 starter or sometimes even a No. 4 depending on scheduling etc. If Berrios though doesn't correct himself, another top starter is needed. If the Jays can get a bullpen arm like Andrew Miller was to Cleveland in 2016, that would be the most ideal.
  6. The photos of Rachel Maddow and that CNN anchor were uncalled for. As well as me posting a photo of Kat Timpf. Tomi Lahren and Alyssa Milano both have connections to baseball, so they should be fair game.
  7. We need the Politics Thread back!
  8. Kat is pretty hot! Has that nerdy look!
  9. Alyssa Milano of course, even if she is a crazy woke leftist. See I don't judge like some others!
  10. I bet majority of posters on this board would go out with a girl who looks like her in a heartbeat, no questions asked. Even Jim despite his political views haha.
  11. There are going to be players from each team that can't play up here because of Canada's entry requirements still. It's reality right now. Everyone will know that when the team declares those players inactive before a series. It's fine to state that their inactive, or the impact of not having them for that series, though when it digs deeper and attacks someone on a personal level based on a personal decision, I could see how some others on the board may take it personally as well. Overall, I think we want all COVID behind us and from the looks of it, we're definitely almost there if not already as things are pretty much back to normal. So regardless of opinions or politics from last year on certain topics, lets enjoy baseball!
  12. Jays needed his late inning experience tonight haha.
  13. Stripling - 6 innings Mayza - 1 inning Cimber - 1 inning Romano - 1 inning Problem solved.
  14. Never have seen starting pitchers babied so much in my life. I understand if Stripling was grinding through those 5 innings and close to 100 pitches, then yes take him out. Though at 81 pitches and cruising, he should have been left in with Cimber ready out of the pen if need be. Josh Towers and Gustavo Chacin pitched into the 7th and 8th innings back in 2005 if they were pitching well and at a low pitch count. I'm sure you can ask Stripling go 6 innings on occasion given how awful the Blue Jays pen has been.
  15. Yes, but he was pitching well tonight and he's at only 81 pitches. Need to assess the situation at hand. Also, like I said, he's been pretty much lights out in June (1.16 ERA). Given the Blue Jays bullpen, let him go out in the 6th. It's tough asking this bullpen to give you one or two innings to close out a game, let alone FOUR! Like I said, if he gives up a hard hit ball or walk, bring in Cimber! If Stripling is dealing and only at 50-60 pitches entering the 6th inning, though third time through the order, does that mean he should be pulled?
  16. You can't expect this bullpen to close out a 4-2 game starting from the 6th inning. Common sense!
  17. You don't let get Stripling get shelled. If he gives up a hard hit or leadoff walk, then you make the call to the bullpen.
  18. Jay, at 81 pitches, Stripling could have went out in the 6th and if he gave up a hard hit ball or walk, pull him. Geez, even in 2005 guys like Josh Tower and Gustavo Chacin pitched deep into games if they were cruising and pitching well. Given how awful the Jays bullpen is, they need to ask a bit extra from their starters and Stripling was more than fine going out in the 6th on a short leash.
  19. Sometimes when you have a starter dealing, if you could squeeze an extra inning out of him (especially after only FIVE innings), and especially considering the Blue Jays bullpen, wouldn't have been a bad idea. I understand in the Postseason or if the Jays were deep with solid bullpen arms that you could rely on to give you 4 innings to close out a game, though that isn't the case. It wouldn't have been the end of the world sending Stripling out in the 6th inning at only 81 pitches and keep him on a short leash. If he was closer to 100 pitches and had a lot of high stress situations, different story. Also, Stripling in June has posted a 1.16 ERA in his 5 starts. It's not like he's been awful or anything.
  20. Tomi Lahren is pretty hot.
  21. You could even make the argument Goldy has been better than Votto and Freeman. Goldy has been pretty much durable throughout his career and I think now he's found a comfort level with the Cardinals. Barring any devastating injury or drastic dropoff, Goldy should still produce in his age 35-40 seasons.
  22. Goldy has been one of the most underrated superstars in baseball the past decade. He's having a masterful season that isn't getting talked about as much as it should.

    NHL Thread

This is probably the best core the Leafs have had in the past two decades. A lot better than the Leafs in late 90s and early 2000s, when you had Sundin, Mogilny, Gary Roberts, Tucker, Thomas etc. If they can't win a Stanley Cup with the core they have, which I think on paper looks like one of the best in the league, it's going to extremely tough to draft and develop another top core again. The waiting game will continue. Do you give the Leafs another season with this core to see how far they can go, or do you shakeup something by trading one of Matthews, Marner, Taveras or Nylander for another superstar caliber guy?
