  1. You're too negative. Jays were such a great bet tonight. Avoid the sweep at home, Weaver pitching against the rock solid Bassitt. This was an easy win!
  2. I was correct that Luke Weaver sucks and Jays would easily win!
  3. We need to get Masterbather playing some fantasy baseball lol.
  4. Berrios is probably more of a 2A or excellent No. 3 starter. He's not one the top No. 2 starters out there agreed, but he's still very good. Jays pitching is fine, but yeah their offense needs to perform better if they want to have any chance at winning in a series. Can't expect this team to win 1-0 or 2-0 games every time out.
  5. Twins have some good starting pitching that often gets overlooked. We talk about how amazing the Jays rotation is, but the Twins you could say is pretty much equivalent or even a bit better. Twins are no different than the Jays (strong pitching but weak lineup). Gray - 5.2 WAR Lopez - 4.5 WAR Ryan - 2.5 WAR Ober - 2.2 WAR I actually would rather face the Rays instead of the Twins.
  6. Luke Weaver sucks. Jays should win this game!
  7. Yeah Chappy has still been a valuable piece on this team despite how awful he has been. That's why I would definitely welcome him back if he accepted the QO or on a 1-year deal for a bit more. Wouldn't rely on him however being a middle-of-the-order bat. He shouldn't be hitting 4th or 5th given how bad he has been offensively.
  8. NL Wildcard this weekend should be very interesting. Marlins and Cubs tied for the 3rd spot. Arizona likely gets in being up 2 games on both. Reds have to pretty much win outright and hope the Cubs/Marlins lose all their games. They had a great season still and should be a fun team to watch in 2024!
  9. He still likely gets a 2-3 year deal from someone given the weak 3B market, but damn did he throw away a huge amount of money this offseason. If he was hitting .240/.340/.450 with 30 HR and 80-90 RBI and a 5 WAR season, likely gets a 5 year deal over $100M.
  10. They definitely aren't an elite team this season. They've been a borderline Wildcard team in the AL. Their record at this point and level of play clearly shows that through 158 games this season.
  11. Mark Shapiro's renovations are to blame!
  12. Yeah definitely will be some changes to the lineup next season. Hopefully Atkins can swing a big trade and get lucky with some value FA signings like he did with Belt and KK.
  13. Still have to visit PNC Park and Camden. Oracle and Coors Field I would say were both of my favourites I've been to thus far! Wasn't a big fan of Dodgers Stadium to be honest but still a good place to watch a game. Petco and T-Mobile Park are great venues to explore and watch a game. Excellent craft beer as well. I actually really liked Minute Maid Park. A lot of fantastic food options as well. Citizens Bank in Philly is meh. Not a big fan of the new Yankee Stadium. Preferred the old one. As for Citi Field, like it a lot better than the new Yankee Stadium. I didn't mind Angels Stadium but yeah it's kind of run down. Cheaper prices on concessions at least than Dodgers Stadium. Visited the Trop this year. As bad as it seems, I didn't mind it that much. Felt like you were watching a game in Japan or Korea which has similar ballparks. Visiting Truist Park next week for Game 1 of the NLDS. Looks awesome and can't wait!
  14. I remember that game back in 2003. Miss Delgado a lot! Such a great hitter!
  15. Will be extremely easy agreed!
  16. I think so. His 2.25 ERA really stands out from guys like Strider, Gallen and Wheeler. Plus he has 234 K's. Only negative is the 99 walks. Strider has a chance at 20 wins, but his ERA at 3.81 would be the highest ever for any Cy Young winner. If he was able to lower his ERA around the 3.50 mark, to follow up with 20 wins and 274 K's, I think it would have been close. I think Strider has been the better pitcher despite what the ERA says, but the voters will go for Snell.
  17. World Series odds according to Bet 365: Braves - 3.50 Dodgers - 5.00 Orioles - 8.00 Rangers - 8.00 Rays - 11.00 Astros - 12.00 Phillies - 14.00 Blue Jays - 17.00 Twins - 19.00 Brewers - 21.00 Mariners - 21.00 D'Backs - 46.00 Cubs - 51.00 Marlins - 67.00 Reds - 101.00
  18. I don't think it hurts to go after a No. 4/5 starter for 2024. Don't think Manoah deserves the No. 5 spot after the season he had. Let him prove himself in ST and down in Buffalo first before he's given a spot. Kikuchi was awesome this season, but which type of pitcher do we get next season? As well, in case Gausman regresses a bit, or an injury happens, always good to have SP depth capable of pitching at the big league level. The more pitching the better and will be tougher to add a decent starting pitcher at the deadline anyways.
  19. Just need one or two of those guys to get hot in a short series.
  20. All the teams in the AL right now are flawed in their own ways. Don't think there is a clear cut favourite like in the NL with the Braves and Dodgers. Jays just need to get in and past the WC round. With their pitching and if the lineup improves just slightly, they could go on a run.
  21. Definitely have to give the team credit for bouncing back really strong after that Texas series. A lot of teams might have folded, but they came back to sweep Boston and have won 2 of 3 against the Yankees and Rays. Nice to also roll into the WC matchup playing hot like they have been. Hope the lineup can keep this up!
