  1. I never said randomness doesn't play a huge factor in the WC or DS. Stop putting words in my mouth or posting stuff that I never said. Please actually read my posts and stop associating me with ConnorP because I just stated the obvious about the D'Backs lol.
  2. Again, what is wrong in saying they have an exciting young core lead by Corbin Carroll? Seriously? Carroll is NL ROY and was in the MVP discussion for the first half the season. He offers power and speed. He's one of the more exciting young players in the game. What is wrong in stating that?
  3. Why are you pairing with me with Connorp? Geez all I said is that the D'Backs had a young exciting core lead by Corbin Carroll, an ace in Gallen and another good starter in Kelly, along with facing both a Brewers and Dodgers team at the right time when their rotations weren't 100% in a short series. I've always said a short series like the WC and DS are random and that the D'Backs are a team that could benefit from a short series, as any WC team that made it. Geez man, you can't say anything on this message board anymore. I haven't been arguing back and forth about the D'Backs with anyone on here lmao, where have you been?
  4. I don't think anyone on here has argued that the MLB Postseason isn't extremely random especially the WC and DS. You're making it seem that way for some reason, so you can take the high road and look like a genius. I still would prefer being the team that wins their division, have a lineup of elite players and my aces pitching in a short series than being a team like the D'Backs or Marlins lets say. I even said before this Braves/Phillies series that Philly was going to be a difficult opponent for Atlanta. They aren't a pushover like you would think with other WC teams, especially given how they have Postseason experience from last season.
  5. Sure to an extent. Strider had issues with the long ball in the Postseason (4 HR's in 12.2 innings) and didn't have the strongest finish in September (5.60 ERA). He hasn't looked like the dominant ace we've been to used to seeing over the last month. I've watched a lot of his starts and I even noticed. 18 of his 29 HR's for Casty came at Citizens Bank Park this season. Good for a .553 SLG at home as well. It's like a band box pretty much. Even when I went to the Jays home series in 2010 in Philly haha, me and my friend noticed how small the ballpark feels when you're there. Lastly, the Braves only scored 1 run and missed out on that golden opportunity in the 7th. They needed to score more runs plain and simple. Strider pitched well and grinded through 5.2 innings, and the BP kept the Phillies to zeroes the rest of the way. Very tough to win a Postseason game when you only score 1 run.
  6. Nick Castellanos hit 29 HR's and had a .476 SLG this season. Wasn't a slouch with the bat like the previous year. So far 4 HR's in 6 Postseason games. Seems like he's one of their bats that is getting hot and who is having a huge impact at the right time in a short series. Braves lose 3-1. I still want my ace pitching in an elimination game no matter what.
  7. All the Atkins lovers on the BJMB watching AA's team eliminated last night:
  8. Atlanta's lineup other than in Game 2 pretty much hit like the Jays this series haha. Strider didn't pitch all that bad, other than giving up the HR ball. Fried was meh, and Elder really s*** the bed for them. I don't get why people hate on Ranger Suarez like he's a nobody. He's not that bad of a pitcher. He's their No. 3 starter who posted a 2.4 WAR this season in 22 starts with a 8.57 K/9. He even pitched well for them in the Postseason last year. Yes the Braves bats should have done way more damage against him, especially after seeing him a second time in the series. Phillies utilized Suarez well in Game 1 and Game 4.
  9. Don't bring up the fact that the Jays under Atkins haven't won a Postseason game or you will be attacked!
  10. BJMB after the Shapiro press conference today:

Waiting for when the Bills could beat them in the Playoffs.
  12. Tarred and feathered as well!
  13. Shapiro sweeping everyone off their feet with his press conference today lol.
  14. Toronto Star has gone downhill in everything pretty much!
  15. He's the baseball version of Martha Stewart when it comes to renovations of ballparks!
  16. It was still very early in May!
  17. Since your profile picture is Kikuchi, let's do Rodon vs. Kikuchi. If that works for you, hand shake!
  18. I see Philly or Atlanta beating them over a 7 game series.
  19. So the bet is that Rodon has to have a higher WAR than one of Berrios or Kikuchi or both?
  20. I made some money of the D'Backs this Postseason. Not complaining at all.
  21. It's been like this all season. Instead of attacking Ross Atkins and the front office, they unleash their anger and attacks on me! I'm the BJMB punching bag it seems!

    NHL Thread

Yeah I'm not a fan of shootouts when it comes to hockey or soccer. The games are decided by luck and skill of certain individual players which isn't fair. I understand why they need to do shootouts for soccer after 90 + 30 mins of extra time, players are all fatigued. I think with hockey 3 v 3 opens up the ice and we've seen teams score more easily. I would definitely do what the NBA does. 5 min OTs until some scores. Hope the NHL looks into it at some point.
