Some NFL games could be really boring and low scoring. Games could be decided by flags and yeah a lot of commercials. I find some people love just watching the NFL because it's an excuse to gamble, enter pools etc. Sometimes CFL games could be more entertaining than NFL games. Basketball games are fast paced and a lot is always happening. Games go by really quickly, like in almost 2 hours. Glad that MLB made changes to speed up the games. So far they have been really effective IMO.

Good chance the Raps start the season 1-5 since they play the Bucks on Wednesday and then the 76ers in Philly on Thursday.

Barnes should continue to improve and it's looking like he could average more than 20 PPG this season which would be nice. If he eventually becomes a 25 PPG/10 REB/7-8 APG guy with that solid D, that would be awesome. Siakam has been terrible. As well OG and Trent haven't been anything special in the early going. Hope they start giving more minutes to Dick. Love his shot and we saw him drop 16 points in 28 minutes against Philly on Saturday. If you decide to go to some games this season, just purchase tickets an hour or two before tip-off. Did that last night and managed to get seats in Sec 323, Row 1 for $30 each (including taxes and fees).
  4. Yeah Philly is a big market and likely gains more national interest especially from places on the East coast. Plus like you said, the ability to market players like Bryce Harper in the World Series would have been big. A lot of stuff in sports is happening now as well. NFL is in full swing, college football on Saturday's, and both the NHL and NBA started up. Plus it was Halloween weekend where a lot of adults all went out to costume parties or bars on both Friday and Saturday night haha. As well like mentioned in this thread, places like Texas and Arizona are states that are more into high school and college football and the NFL than baseball.
  5. There aren't really many players like Soto available via free agency. Other than Ohtani and Bellinger. Probably 27 or 28 teams are already out of the bidding for Ohtani anyways, which leaves Bellinger as the only elite bat available but even he comes with some question marks. You either can pay huge dollars and years to Belly or could sign guys to 1-2 year deals like Teo, LGJ, Pederson, Pham, Brantley etc. Padres still should get a strong package for one year of Soto. If they wait until the trade deadline, likely not.
  6. Yeah this FO really needs to take advantage of their windows in 2024 and 2025 when you have guys like Bo still under contract and have guys in the rotation like Gausman in top form. I've been saying this for the longest time. They need to find another elite player and can't go into 2024 relying on Vlad to be that guy. Hopefully Atkins does make some noise this offseason. Soto would be a perfect fit for this lineup and team overall.

Was at the game last night and boy was it ugly. You need to beat a team like Portland at home, no excuses. The Raptors starting 5 offense is awful. No legit huge scoring threat. I bet the under last night which was 217 points. Best bet to make. Raps Money Line before the game I believe were paying like a 1.30 or 1.35 haha and they were favourite by 9 or 10 points before game time.

Vikings have to get another QB before the deadline hopefully. They still are pretty much in it.
  9. Regardless, I'm done talking about the D'Backs and I'm done talking about the Jays disappointing 2023 season. Seem like if you say anything positive about the D'Backs, Term hits the ceiling. If you say anything negative about the Jays, some of you on here go haywire. Ready to move the page and focus on the offseason and 2024. Never seen this board as toxic as it is now. It used to be a place for discussion and debate, not condescending responses and treating well respected posters like they're inferior or idiots. Looking forward to the rest of the World Series. Hopefully it goes 7 games! Cheers!
  10. It's not a s*** show of a post, grow up Spanky. Your posts don't even offer any substance. If you disagree with some things I said, sure say them, but don't put me down and make me out as some kind of idiot or troll.
  11. lol. You're useless man.
  12. I just quoted my response. Stop playing stupid. "It's not black and white. It can be debatable. Blue Jays had more bats with a wRC+ over 100 so yeah they had a deeper lineup, but nobody really had a huge standout year offensively. A lot of Jays bats like KK, Springer, Biggio, Chapman, Jansen and Kirk were pretty much all around 100 wRC+ and had meh numbers offensively. Belt was outstanding, but he was used strictly in a platoon role and only played against RHP. Bo was really the only bat who performed at a high level offensively on a day-to-day basis. Vladdy wasn't that bad as well according to wRC+ but still a huge underperformance for what was expected and could have been better in other areas. D'Backs got an MVP performance from Corbin Carroll and both Ketel Marte and Christian Walker had really strong years offensively. Their top 3 bats were better than the Jays top 3 bats this season offensively IMO. The rest of the D'Backs lineup was meh, but even a player like Gurriel who just had a 106 wRC+ also provided 24 HR's while someone like KK who had a similar wRC+ of 104 just hit 8 HR's and only played against RHP. Overall, both lineups weren't anything special in 2023. D'Backs got better performances from their star players, whereas the star players on the Blue Jays like Vlad and Springer underperformed. If this Blue Jays lineup was hitting like they did in 2021 (even minus Semien), they have a much better lineup." Tell me what's wrong with it? Is it that irrational what I said? Do I sound like a GDT troll who is all doom and gloom about this team?
  13. Again, low level insults and offering nothing to this board other than instigating arguments with other posters and between other posters. You're better than this Spanky.
  14. lol you said you provided stats in your post and you didn't.
  15. So tell me what was wrong with my response to your post? Sure you might disagree but there is no need for you and even posters like Term to overreact and go crazy. This board has really gone down hill over the last year and a half. I never recalled so many posters ever as condescending or treating other well respected posters like idiots when they contribute or add anything to the conversation.
  16. You love sitting on the sidelines and love instigating arguments between others on this board. You're pretty much rooting for arguments to take place, taking a side and then trash talking the side you disagree with. Like your responses to other posts directed at me.
  17. My response to your post Jay: And I'm being attacked for stating this by all you Blue Jays homers. Geez!
  18. Lmao I don't see any stats...
  19. Yes he's a platoon bat, not an everyday player. The Jays utilized him very well against RHP only. He only played in 103 games due to his age and injuries, which was expected. I don't think anyone on here expected Belt to play 150 games at his age and given his injury history. Nothing against Belt's season, he was outstanding this year and provided the Jays with excellent value. I just wouldn't consider him in the same class as a Corbin Carroll or Ketel Marte offensively this season.
  20. What ignorance? I'm talking about my main post in response to yours about how it could be debatable on who had a better lineup this season, the Jays or D'Backs. I brought up Belt because some posters on here were mentioning him as if he were on the same level as Carroll or Marte offensively.
  21. You really do love just sitting on the sidelines.
  22. What is wrong in saying that could it be debatable on which lineup is better? Should read my original post and you'll see that it made sense.
  23. Yeah his numbers in the PS have been awful. Misunderstood your post and thought you were referring to his numbers from the regular season.
  24. My point is that Belt was a platoon bat this season who mainly faced against RHP which is why he had a 138 wRC+ on the season. You can't take that at face value and place him on the same level as Corbin Carroll or Ketel Marte, who both played everyday against both RHP and LHP. If you started Belt against lefties as well, his overall offensive numbers on the season would have been worse.
  25. I never asked if he would have a 138 wRC+ strictly vs. LHP. I asked if he was playing everyday and hitting vs. LHP as well, would his wRC+ overall have been 138 this season. As well you didn't understand the context I was asking that question. When comparing Arizona and Toronto bats, some posters on here were throwing around Belt's name and his 138 wRC+ as if he were an elite player, when not considering the fact that he was platooning most of the season and only hitting against RHP mainly. I place more value in a player who could play everyday against both RHP and LHP. Carroll and Marte for instance. Belt shouldn't be used in the same conversation.
