  1. I doubt he did, but what do I know. Do you have any links showing he had multiple suitors? Regardless, the IKF deal is looking solid thus far, so will give Atkins props. Most of his value is tied to his defense. Offensively, he's been holding his head above water, but we'll see if he could maintain a 100 wRC+ the entire season. I had no issue with the IKF signing at the time. I said as long as that money didn't tie into the Jays from spending in other areas such as adding some thump to the lineup and if IKF wasn't used on an everyday basis. Thought of him as more of a super utility guy who can maybe start 4-5 times per week. Ideally, the Jays should have added some thump in the OF and DH, with IKF at 3B, instead of going after all defensive-minded players this offseason. Some balance would have helped.
  2. I bet AI could have put together a better offseason than Ross Atkins lol.
  3. Bet365 or BetMGM definitely want his business and aren't complaining. If he won big, he would have been booted off.
  4. Ross Atkins couldn't do anything this offseason to improve the offense! Give the dude a free pass!
  5. Give me a break geez. Stop giving Atkins a free pass on everything!
  6. Teoscar and Hoskins would have been nice adds. Obviously not on the level of Ohtani or Soto, but they definitely would have helped in the power department. As well, there were several other names available during the offseason who could have helped the lineup: Joc Pederson, Tyler O'Neill, Adam Duvall, JD Martinez, Jorge Soler (if they wanted to do a multiyear deal), Gary Sanchez, and Tommy Pham. Also, who knows what trades were available. Like you said, if they signed one or two of these bats, especially Teo and/or Hoskins, likely would make a sizeable difference to the offense.
  7. I would buy one yes. They look cool actually.
  8. Haven't been to Seattle since seeing the Jays play there in 2016. Pike Place Market is a cool place. Some cool bars and restaurants around that area as well. A little further from the ballpark however.
  9. Have to start asking the question would it be smart to move him out of the closers role for a bit until he figures things out? I love Romano and hope he can right the ship, but don't feel that confident in him closing out a one or two-run game against a team like the Yankees, Orioles, or pretty much anyone right now etc.
  10. Awesome start for him. If he could lower his BB/9, watch out!
  11. I would have went to one of those games if they were pitching for sure.
  12. Hope Manoah is okay. Nice to sweep the White Sox. Gotta keep this momentum rolling hopefully.
  13. He's been somewhat decent this season, but his K/9 really low. His 2022 season looks more like an anomaly.
  14. Could have been worse. Actually not bad at all.
  15. I was advocating for a McMahon trade a couple of years ago. The control and contract are nice. Having a solid season offensively as well.
  16. The Atkins cult gets excited and fooled after the Jays win 2 games against the White Sox. Brownie has come out of hiding.
  17. Do you have a Big Clev jersey? Haha you love him and own him in pretty much every fantasy league.
  18. Baseball just got a lot better!
  19. He's one of the most insufferable posters on this board. You're not allowed to criticize Atkins or this front office and have any baseball discussion on things the Blue Jays could have done or could do according to Brownie. Atkins and the front office know everything and ought not to be questioned!
  20. I don't think Vlad deserves that kind of money and commitment right now from the Blue Jays. Let's see how he finishes this season and how he does next season. I'm not sure if we'll ever see another 5-6 WAR season from Vladdy and if we do maybe its only once. It's possible but its very unlikely. I would rather roll the dice on Soto or Tucker or Bregman if we're talking about 30M AAV + per season. Vladdy 2022 season and 3-4 WAR is most likely his ceiling. He can easily be replaced. You don't want to lock up that type of player to a 7 or 8 year deal. He's 25 now, but in 2026 when it's the first year of his new deal, he'll be 27.
  21. Sucks for baseball.
  22. Maybe he needs a change of scenery. Wonder what the Rays would ask for him...
  23. I also guarantee you that if Atkins acquired Joey Bart, Brownie would be saying how it was such a brilliant move and how Atkins and the FO saw something in him and developed a former top prospect to reach his full potential etc.
  24. Where am I complaining exactly? Did I even mention the Blue Jays in my post? I was responding to Connors post. He mentioned Jo Addell and I said that Joey Bart, who also was a top prospect coming up but who has never lived up to the hype, has put up great numbers as well to start this season. Both have been good stories in the early part of 2024.
