  1. Yeah Cleveland has undergone a resurgence. It's a great city to go watch a sporting event in! The two times I've been (Jays ALCS in 2016 and Raptors Playoffs in 2018) were both a blast!
  2. Yeah Cleveland has cleaned up and there are a lot of cool bars and restaurants around the ballpark and arena. Nice city to visit for a weekend for sure. Was thinking driving to Cleveland to see the Jays or drive to Pittsburgh to see them host the Rays. I've never been to PNC Park. I was in Boston two weeks ago and caught the Tigers game on Friday night at Fenway!
  3. Anyone planning on driving down to Cleveland next weekend?
  4. Gotta give AA props for trading for Chris Sale this offseason and signing Reynaldo Lopez and making him a starter. If Atkins signed Reynaldo Lopez as a starter and he had the same success here, the Atkins cult would be praising Atkins as a genius and saying how it was a steal locking him up for 3 years at $30M.
  5. Braves leading the NL Wild Card, at 36-30 with a +27 run differential, even without Strider, Acuna and majority of their big bats sucking. Murphy just got back as well. Jays sit at 33-35, 3 GB of WC3 with two other teams ahead of them and with a -35 run differential. Braves are still in a much better position especially if their big bats come around and AA makes some movies at the deadline.
  6. Braves as a team overall have been struggling. Big bats in their lineup like Olson, Riley, Harris and Albies need to step up. But yeah imagine the Blue Jays losing Gausman for the entire 2024 season and losing Vladdy a couple of weeks ago. Things would be way worse. At least the Braves are 36-30 with a +27 run differential and lead the NL Wild Card despite losing two of the best in baseball and while a good chunk of their lineup has sucked.
  7. I don't expect their offense to be that awful over a full season. They also just got Murphy back as well and he's only had 42 AB's. Braves lineup should turn it around. If their struggles continue into next season with guys like Riley, Albies, Harris, then sure I would be concerned.
  8. You gave Atkins a free pass pretty much on everything so why should AA be any different?
  9. I'll still take the Braves over the Blue Jays any day of the week, even without Strider and Acuna. They still sit at 36-30 and lead the NL Wildcard. I don't see AA standing pat at the deadline at least and he'll address the holes on the roster unlike some other GMs.
  10. The Blue Jays might not even get in this season based on the horrendous offseason Atkins had lol.
  11. I mean its tough losing two of the best in the game, in Strider and Acura Jr. for the year. Others like Olson, Riley, Albies and Harris need to step up offensively. As well, they were without Murphy for a good chunk of the season, who just came back. They've hit a tough patch, but still sit at 36-30 and lead the NL Wildcard. Would rather be in the Braves position than the Blue Jays currently.
  12. Should definitely lead to a ban. One poster on here loves calling posters Tampons. A lot of low level insults thrown around by some of these guys.
  13. Who's job is it to make that assessment on players and the roster? You just agreed that the Jays are rostering too many older players with risks like Springer, KK and Turner. Two of the THREE which signed as FA's this past offseason.
  14. Keep drinking the Kool Aid! Nothing wrong with being optimistic at all. Though according to you and some others of the Atkins cult, you're not allowed to criticize the GM or the front office on anything when it comes to this team. You can't keep giving him a free pass for everything. I want to see the Blue Jays win a World Series more than anyone! I'm sure you do as well! Though it doesn't look like it's going to happen with Atkins in control. His window is closing. Hope I'm proven wrong.
  15. He either just got hired by Rogers or Ross Atkins wrote him a wonderful reference!
  16. Blue Jays are now 32-10 when they score at least 3 runs. But Atkins couldn't do anything this offseason to improve the lineup.
  17. EatMyShatkins tends to forget the solid years offensively Teo had for the Jays. Funny when Teo has an off year in Seattle, he's done. But when an aging outfielder like Springer is in decline for two years or someone like Kirk's power disappears, it's too early to write them off just yet lol.
  18. I mean we all know he didn't have much value, if any at all, but for a team like the Dodgers to want to trade for him after he was DFA shows you that he's still a decent piece to have around for depth and versatility on the bench, and someone who also has some untapped potential still.
  19. A lot of other options were available but it was just too tough for Atkins.
  20. Haha yup. There was nothing Atkins could have done this offseason to improve the lineup! Absolutely nothing!
  21. I can't tell if you're being serious or joking. Even if joking, I don't get how it would it be funny. Rooker after 2024 will be arb eligible and still have 3 years of control left. He's looking like he could be a 30-40 HR type bat and possible 3-4+ WAR upside. He won't come cheap.
  22. What do you think Oakland would ask for? He has controllability which is the nice thing, so wouldn't just be a rental. Would definitely target him during the offseason if Oakland makes him available.
  23. Oakland likely could shop Shae. Jansen and/or Kirk aren't the only catchers available.
  24. Even if Bo does start going on a tear, the Jays need to add another bat or two to this lineup. The status quo isn't good enough.
