  1. Yeah he has really struggled as of late offensively. Still has a 2.1 WAR season thus far and likely will finish between 2.5 and 3 WAR. Offensively he isn't anything special but he's a bat who could give you .240 with 20-25 HR and 70-80 RBI, along with close to 3 WAR. Having him bat at the bottom of the order like 7th is fine. His deal includes a conditional opt-out after 2025 and 2026.
  2. Possible 3B trade candidates: Ryan McMahon and Jake Burger. Manny Machado but would have to eat a lot of contract and that's IF the Padres want to move him. As well, Nolan Arenado, but his contract could be an issue and that's IF the Cards want to move him. Their contracts should reduce the asking price.
  3. Haha so that likely reduces his trade value slightly if he's mainly a DH bat. Give him a majority of his AB's at DH, with the odd start in LF if needed. Plenty of corner OF bats available in free agency.
  4. C Kirk/______ 1B Guerrero 2B Horwtiz SS Bichette 3B _______ RF Springer CF Varsho LF Rooker DH _______ BN Schneider BN Clement BN Loperfido BN _______ SP Gausman SP _______ SP Bassitt SP Berrios SP Rodriguez Jays should be able to sign one of the following front of the rotation arms available this offseason: Snell, Burnes (ace), Fried, Flaherty, Bieber (misses time likely earlier in the season), or bring back Kikuchi. Should be the main focus of free agency. Not many 3B available other than Bregman or Chapman. Likely will be a bit pricey. Not sure if there are any trade options or they roll with Clement. As for another LF/DH bat, can easily sign someone like Joc Pederson, Tyler O'Neill, Jesse Winker, Jurickson Profar, Teo Hernandez, Anthony Santander, Michael Conforto, Max Kepler etc. Plenty of options available. Can't botch that situation again. Bullpen should be easy to repair via free agency and gotta hope for some bounce backs from Romano, Swanson, and Green.
  5. Would Rooker be a full time DH or can he play LF for an entire season? He's only played 14 games in the outfield this season. Is he that bad defensively?
  6. Like BTS said, it's Oakland haha. The Jays were able to steal Josh Donaldson and Matt Chapman from the A's, so anything is possible. Think he could have a huge impact and he solves a lot of issues for this lineup. He's 29-years-old, so A's likely dangle him and I can't imagine the price being astronomical. Kinda has a JD feel to him.
  7. Trade for Brent Rooker this offseason!
  8. Trading for Arozarena was a very swift deal by the Mariners. Having a down year and started to heat up with the bat when they acquired him. He's capable of 3-4 WAR seasons, and is under control until 2027.
  9. He was always a gamer and a fun player to watch defensively cover CF. Definitely an important part to the 2015 and 2016 teams! Shocked the Angels never traded him to a contender at the deadline. He would have been a very solid 4th outfielder for someone.
  10. Damn Dylan Carlson's value really tanked hard the last couple of seasons. Gets moved for Shawn Armstrong lol. Maybe Rays could unlock some magic with Carlson.
  11. Trying to keep up with all the trade action since being in Europe, but looks like the Jays had a real active trade deadline and moved everyone on expiring contracts, including some other valuable pieces like IKF. Looks like they got solid returns for everyone and did very well.
  12. Glad I got a 2nd rounder for him in the LOD haha.
  13. July 22nd, 2022: Blue Jays vs. Red Sox at Fenway. Sydney Sweeney threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Blue Jays won 28 to 5! She is the best!
  14. Yeah they had the pitching and offensively were one of the best teams in baseball. Sucks that they failed to adequately address the bullpen in time.
  15. Yeah they had their window of opportunity like you said from 2021 onwards though never full capitalized or took advantage of that competitive window. Not all the fault of Atkins, but he could have done more IMO to address some of the issues on the roster during those years. Just never was able to take that next step. I still think the Jays could be competitive in 2025, but that requires some creativity and a very proactive offseason.
  16. Would have been interesting to see that team in the Postseason. Definitely the best Jays team we've seen in the Shatkins era.
  17. I'm still seeing women's underwear ads from the Bay haha.
  18. Yeah both Vladdy and Springer lately have looked way better. Vladdy has been really encouraging and looks like he could have a monster year in 2025. As well, if Spencer Horwitz can stick at 2B, that would be sweet. Varsho in CF just needs to be a 3 WAR outfielder who hits near the bottom of the lineup. Will take 25-30 HR's from him with his glove. Kirk/Jansen behind the plate is fine still. Ideally would love IKF in a super utility role, but if he's your starting 3B in 2025, just want to make sure you get two really good bats at DH and who could play a corner OF spot.
  19. If the Jays decide to keep Bo, which it looks like given his ongoing injuries this season and plummeted trade value, might as well give this group one last chance in 2025 to contend. The Blue Jays however need to add in the offseason and can't keep the status quo. They need to address their offensive woes by at least adding two bats (a DH and corner OF bat), build back some BP depth and sign another starter to replace Kikuchi. Gotta hope that Vladdy and Bo have monster seasons in their contract year. Gotta hope Gausman can find his 2022/2023 form again. Can't afford a drop-off from Bassitt. Gotta hope Berrios can find his 2021/2023 form. Would be nice if the Jays could get a 3 WAR season from Springer. Cross fingers some of the BP arms like Romano and Swanson can put 2024 behind them.
  20. I just cancelled my Apple TV+ free trial before expire FFS!
  21. Downtown Toronto going to be a mess this weekend with the Jays and Indy going on!
  22. First tweet is a positive. Bullpen needed Garcia back and hopefully the Jays can showcase him before the deadline. Second tweet, yikes!
  23. Blue Jays should trade for him next offseason.
  24. Haven't the last two days sucked without baseball?
  25. Agreed, though there are some contenders that could still use Bassitt to get them there over the last 60 or so games.
