  1. Sanchez for Zobrist sounds pretty fair. Those saying no chance are clearly overrating Sanchez and those saying it's not enough are overrating Zobrist. That being said the armchair GM in me would be hesitant.
  2. Thanks. I did not know who was after Joseph.
  3. He was Mr. Debut. First game in the majors he hit 2 jacks and a double I think. Then he hit a bomb in Cleveland 17th inning in 2012 opening day IIRC. He also hit 2 HR (maybe 1?) in the 2011 opening day. There were times where we thought his bat might be enough, until we realized he would never improve his OBP. Don't lie, at one point you liked his bat, it just depends how early you gave up on him. Just to add, I do really dislike him still lol
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he 3rd on their depth chart? Wieters coming off of TJS, he's probably fine but still injuries happen. I would say he will see time in the majors eventually. Baltimore also seemed comfortable giving Delmon Young time in the OF, probably a pretty similar (not as bad, but you get the idea) player.
  5. He seems like a goof but we did have some good memories with him on the team. I hope he doesn't get booed because he sucked like other ex Toronto players.
  6. Ichiro is not completely useless, but on a major league deal? Decent chance he's gone by mid-season. If the news is true it is good though, the Jays should be adding someone reliable in the OF. I thought Eric Young was on the block earlier?
  7. It's the characters they portrayed that made people attracted to them (not that I loved the show).
  8. That's a good point. Still, there's very few teams that would want Navarro at his salary. That's not saying he's not worth his salary necessarily, just that if there's only a couple of teams who might be interested, the likelihood of them working out a deal (even if it is just a PTBNL or w/e) is probably slim. You could be right though, but Smoak could be absolutely terrible and Navarro is at least a reliable hitter, even if he's not a great DH. Wouldn't you rather use Navarro as a DH than some scrub off the waiver wire like Reimold?
  9. They'd be lucky to trade Navarro for just salary relief. There aren't many fits for him on other teams, I just don't see it happening. Keeping him isn't efficient but they put themselves in that position by signing Martin, so looking at the big picture it's not that bad of a situation.
  10. Zobrist will suck in 2017 lol. Wouldn't be hitting 2nd that's for sure.
  11. I think especially for younger players it's important to look at some other aspects. Mental makeup: Stro seems to have a good intensity and focus on the mound. He comes across as intelligent for a baseball player. Physical makeup: He's in good shape and everything, but not a big guy. This points to some red flags which probably lowered his prospect ranking last year. If you take WAR literally, Tanaka=Stroman given the same # of innings next year. IMO that's a terrible projection to take literally.
  12. Totally agree and when he did leave, the episodes seemed weird, even predictable. I've seen Jerry live a couple of times, he was way better than 99% of the crap comedians churn out, but if that's not your style I can see it being stale. I found (a very old) Bill Cosby to be better. I wonder if Larry's standup is any good, haven't heard much about it.
  13. Porcello is the best on the Sox, but Tillman should be on the list if Porcello is. I have no idea how bad Tanaka's tear is. It sounded like TJS is inevitable but he did come back and felt fine. I would like to know what other people think, since I don't know if he should be a keeper for my fantasy team. It's been said a thousand times but with Stroman's size you have to wonder when a serious injury will occur for himself. I am a Stroman fan, but when I read this board the posters here are WAY too high on him IMO. I get that his projections, makeup are good, but some people are making him out to be a top of the rotation pitcher next season... I think it's more likely he struggles through inconsistencies like Hutchison. Putting that together it would be tough to choose Stro over Tanaka, but there's different ways to look at it.
  14. Haha wtf relax dude. If we went to the off topic forum, the conversation would die. That's just how things work.
  15. Rogers has plenty of assets in US dollars, so I doubt the exchange rate plays much of a role.
  16. Aren't you on twitter 24/7? Do you really click on this thread thinking there's news? If there's any actual news, a new thread would be made...
  17. It's still a good show. I think because it's not fully scripted sometimes it doesn't turn out great. Although neither is Curb and it's way better... Larry David is a legend though, so it's tough to compare.
  18. Awesome show, but Larry recently said the chances of another season are about 6:1. I'm surprised nobody mentioned Californication... although I guess that's done now too.
  19. If you're talking same salary... Tanaka and it's not even close. Even at the cost/injury concerns probably still Tanaka. I don't even know why Porcello is being considered for the best pitcher in the AL East here.
  20. +1000 terrible character. Ruined many episodes for me.
  21. For Zobrist? Shelby Miller got 1 year of Heyward, I doubt it takes Stroman or even Sanchez to get 1 year of Zobrist.
  22. It's too bad Maybin makes 6-7 million. If they were dumping him I think he'd be a nice add for the Jays. Higher upside than Pillar IMO.
  23. Not a fan of the Kemp trade, but at least they're not paying him the whole contract. Not a huge albatross.
  24. At least they're shaking things up. Better to do that than do nothing and create absolutely zero buzz for your team for years and years like they've essentially been doing. If I were a Padres fan I'd be pretty excited to see their new look next year.
