  1. Barker is awful. I just found out he's married to Hazel Mae.
  2. I agree he's shown a bit of regression, but he's still a pretty decent pitcher, for whatever reason he just hasn't been able to pitch deep- completed 6+ innings just once since June 1st.
  3. Bolsinger is decent, just has trouble working deep into games. Much better than some of the garbage the Jays have been throwing out there.
  4. Judging by the box score, Doubront pitched well. Can we jump on the bandwagon yet? Could be a decent 5th starter IMO.
  5. That's probably too low. He was playing hurt and only hitting from the right side. I'd take the over on that easily.
  6. Who gets the start? Scherzer seems like a lock, do you go with Archer, Sale, or Keuchel? All 3 deserve consideration.
  7. He might be ok. They need a starter regardless. I could get behind a rotation of Hamels or Samardzija followed by the usual with Doubront as #5.
  8. I logged in to remind everyone Chris Colabello is having a game so far. Nice play!
  9. Nate Jones is making good progress, another guy who could be a nice addition. I don't see how Robertson gets dealt.
  10. If they're in sell mode, why would they trade their best young pitcher? Not to be mean but that makes absolutely no sense.
  11. They're not trading Walker...
  12. They are mostly being trolls but Wilner just dismisses them. Boring show.
  13. Risk: "The winner goes in a big 2nd half slump" Has that actually happened at all in the last little while? Cespedes was pretty good in Boston IIRC. The last guy to go in a terrible slump after might've been Bobby Abreu 10 years ago.
  14. I understand your line of thinking but I just don't think it makes a lot of sense for either team since both teams are in win now mode and likely don't want to give up a piece of their core. Blockbuster deals between 2 contenders don't happen very often for that reason, but it's possible. For me it makes more sense to trade a lot for Hamels or come up with a package for Samardzija + Jones with every intention of making a big offer to Shark. Cueto is great and all but if the price is anywhere close to what it would cost for Hamels (I'm assuming talks start with Norris in both cases) we should be hesitant.
  15. Where is Smoak? Do they just want to make sure Colabello isn't in LF?
  16. They become a marginally better team I'll give you that, but it's still a terrible trade for both teams IMO and doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Why would you deal EE when you can probably improve more by trading Norris/Sanchez/Pompey?
  17. That's a terrible trade for the Jays and an all around awful idea. They have guys like Norris, Sanchez, Pompey who all have value to trade for a pitcher. Why would they trade one of their premier sluggers? It maybe makes them marginally better right now. The more logical thing to do is hang onto EE and trade him if they are out of contention next season.
  18. And Sunday night baseball is back on!
  19. Thanks. If the Jays are looking for OF help (MLBTR suggested it) one name I really like on that list is Carlos Gonzalez. With his contract he might not cost a boat load of guys. Perfect opportunity to buy low if they can take on most of the contract.
  20. But you're making them worse next year if you get an up and coming player in the trade. That sounds like a terrible idea. I'd just keep them and then let them walk (will of course be tough to swallow for PR reasons) or trade them next year if they struggling to stay in contention.
